Linus Tech Tips, Tech Quickie, Tech Linked channels hacked
Crashbash111 replied to betav17's topic in General Discussion
I've also decided to jump back on Floatplane. Haven't been subscribed since the Floatplane "Forum" days post-vessel, but figure why not given the circumstances. That and so I don't miss WAN if it takes a while to get fixed! -
Linus Tech Tips, Tech Quickie, Tech Linked channels hacked

It does make me wonder if these hacks are related to the recent LastPass breaches or if its just some other form of social engineering attack -

Hi everyone, I've been buying components for my new build slowly but surely, and I've been careful with my planning to ensure I've been obtaining aura sync compatible hardware for the most part. My GPU is the Strix 1070ti with native aura sync support, and I have the z390-F asus motherboard that has 2 RGB headers and an addressable RGB header. As part of this build I'm hoping to get a large selection of RGB fans that I'll be able to synchronize using the aura sync software. However finding fans that look good and support this is proving difficult. After doing a bit of research I've come across the Thermaltake Riing Trio fans which IMO look pretty good and combined with the Thermaltake Pro Sync Controller allow you to connect it to an addressable RGB header on an ASUS motherboard. So far so good. My next problem arises with how many fans can I actually run off of this one header. I'm hoping to purchase 8 Riing Trio fans and synchronize all of them with the sync controller, but I'm uncertain on whether each individual fan will be addressable - nor whether the pro sync controller can actually power all of them. From what I've gathered so far I'm pretty sure the headers only support a max of 120 LEDS which I'm sure 8 fans would no doubt exceed. I'm also unsure if each individual fan will actually be addressable, or if the hub simply pairs multiple of them together. I can't find much info on this and I don't really want to invest a lot of money on importing these components if I'm gonna have no luck or fry something. I'll continue my research in the meantime. Does anyone have any experience with the Thermaltake Pro Sync Controller?

Auto Renew membership not working

An automatic payment has gone through for my subscription renewal but I am still unable to access the floatplane club. -
I'll check it out. Thanks

Yeah I have been planning to have my phone hotspot as a standby in case we run into an issue. Can give that a shot. Yup I remember this game - I used to play it quite a bit. Thanks for reminding me about it! Do you know if Rust has LAN support or not? I didn't think it did... I'll check it out. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll check them out and see how many of them actually have proper LAN support.

Yeah I've got a few oldish server machines that would be more than capable of hosting a Team Fortress 2 server I recon

There will be 10 of us, and tbh we don't have that many other games so I recon it's worth a shot

Hi all. I'm hosting a LAN with about 9 of my mates coming along in about 3 days, but we'll be in a location with no internet at all. Right now we are struggling to get a good list of LAN games we could all try together. In the past we've played games over the internet but this time we need a list of games that are actually LAN compatible. Most modern games seem to lack LAN support and we are mostly stuck to older titles, but I'd be keen to hear if you guys have any suggestions. It doesn't matter how old the games are. Right now the list is: * Rocket League® - using Rocket Launcher mod we can play through LAN. * Team Fortress 2 * Counter Strike: Source/Global Offensive * Warcraft III: Frozen Throne * Garry's Mod * Dota 2 DiRT 3 Complete Edition * Borderlands 2 (assuming it supports LAN) * Half-Life 2 + Synergy (unsure if that'll work) * OpenLieroX * Minecraft * Terraria * Tremulous * OpenTTD Thoughts? EDIT: Here I was thinking we wouldn't have many games, what a list haha.

I'm currently using MX Reds on a k70 keyboard. I have tried blues in the past, but personally I feel that the reds are easier for gaming for me because I don't even need to fully press them down for them to register. It's all up to personal preference really.

I don't use Google Play music myself, but I'm pretty sure they have an app that syncs the music offline. You'll probably still have to use the web player I'd assume though. That's just my thoughts anyway. https://play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#/manager
