Thanks guys, yeah I think I will wait since laptops seem to be really pricey right now. RTX 2060 laptops are still very expensive even though the 30 series are coming out, which does not make sense to me. Also I am mainly only looking at Lenovo, since the other companies have bad customer service and part availability (in my experience as a tech). Also, I don't find RGB to be nice at all and Lenovo does a good job at keeping their gaming products looking professional. And yeah, I will be moving to Japan maybe they have better deals there, but I lose a bit of money on the exchange unfortunately

Good evening forums, I have a problem with my Dell Latitude E5470. It has a i7-6600U (2C 4T), and it has a R7 M360 inside. Not the most powerful laptop, but I am just trying to play Valorant on 720p. The performance sucked but I realized it was running on the integrated graphics. So I disabled the integrated GPU and switched to the integrated AMD card. Problem is, I cannot change the brightness or the resolution in Windows settings. I downloaded the Radeon software and even installed the proper display drivers from the dell website. Yet still, my problem is still there... One thing that might be contributing to the problem is that when I am on the AMD graphics, and I go to the advanced display settings I get some unavailable values, I will attach a picture. Any ideas? Hey there, Someone wants to sell me an msi Gl65 9sc for 750$ CAD. It's got a 1650 and 8gb of ram, however the ram and storage can be upgraded. He says he thought it was the 144hz model but windows only says it's 60hz? Is he being dishonest? Is this a good price? Thanks for the help!

Thanks guys I think I'll open the backside of the ps4 and glue a Kensington lock to it, drill a hole in the plastic casing for the lock to stick out, and then screw the casing back in. Then I'll lock the ps4 to the desk leg or something like that. I'll post an update! You guys gave me a lot of good ideas but I don't like the "box" solutions cause ps4s already run really toasty and it might break it in the long run. Keep an eye out for an update!

Haven't considered that! But I don't think I'll go as far as securing that. If ever he sells it his housemates will let him borrow it. He can't sell those!

Hey there forums. I recently fixed up a broken/abandoned PS4 from my job. I'm giving it to my brother, who lives in a special home since he has schizophrenia. I have already given him an iMac and he also has a guitar, and those things are big enough so that he can't sneak them out of the house to sell them. Part of his condition is that he is extremely impulsive, and long story short, although he doesn't mean to he sells his things pretty often. The problem is that a PS4 is small enough for him to sneak it out and sell. So... my mom said that at her old job they had a wire system that is screwed into the back of the motherboard (of a desktop) and to a desk I guess and which virtually makes the system "impossible" to steal. As you can see, this or a similar system can be useful to my predicament... Any recommendations? I don't know where I can get something like this. IT guys would be helpful here. - Crunchy

I heard blower cards run hotter honestly, unless your case has bad cooling, but don't quote me on that honestly. You are right that at 83-84 blue screening is not normal. Cards should theoretically work up until around 90 c. What I think is going on, is that your gpu is becoming old so I would look into undervolting or underclocking your gpu in search of a more stable experience. This might improve your performance even though you have lower clock speeds, since it gets to work hard until higher temperatures. That said, I would look into getting an upgrade from your 1080. Personally, I would wait until the 3000 series releases because the difference between a 1080 and 2080 I hear is ... underwhelming, to say the least

A case like this will always have better temperatures for obvious reasons. Glass in the front is pretty, but not the best. Also don't forget to compare your gpu to the website i shared with you

After cleaning your GPU, try benchmarking your 1080 and compare it to the results here: https://techgage.com/article/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-review-a-look-at-4k-ultra-wide-gaming/ He did some ultrawide 1440p tests with a 1080, like what you are trying to push. If you are doing significantly worse than him, it's either your case isn't supplying enough air or your gpu has a problem, such as a broken fan or something along these lines. (investigate further from here)

I checked the case out, it's a nice case with decent airflow but not great airflow in my opinion. If you find that you are running kind of hot I would get a case that has an open front design, since your case the fans can only draw air from the sides. Also, if you take the dust filter off the top of the case you'll probably get cooler temps. What I will finally suggest to you is to disassemble your gpu, clean the thermal paste with rubbing alcohol and remove any dust buildup. Change the paste for some good thermal paste. This will definetly help if you haven't been doing this regularly with your GPU

Hey what temperatures are you running on full load on your CPU and GPU? If they are high, let's check what model case you have and what your case fan configuration is. Honestly, a 2700x and 1080 should be running 1440p pretty well (Around the performance of a 2070).

Then yeah, it probably isn't the right choice. But still, figure out what specs are in the optiplex and for what he's paying for it

Which dell Optiplex did he buy? Because depending on the games he is playing, he might be really happy with it. For instance, look at the photo attached: for 130 USD you get a sandy bridge (presumably a i5 2500k or something similar, im not recommending this exact system) with a 250gb ssd and an entire system with it. If you were lets say, put a RX 580 in there you would definitely be seeing some bottleneck but if all he is playing is csgo, overwatch, valorant, league of legends or similar games he should have no problem driving 1080p at over 60fps. Depending on the price he pays for the 580, he could make a system for less than 250 USD that runs the games he enjoys. So you should ask him his priorities because he may be making a bad choice, but he also might just have different standards than you.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah so the stock fan curve on RX 580 OC is super weird. I'm messing with it now and I am almost at 1500 mhz stable. I didn't know this GPU can OC this well.

Yes I had afterburner set up but I didn't touch the clock speeds I was just using it to monitor temperatures. I never touched the fan curve, it was always set to auto.

I know a lot of people hate on bottleneck calculators but according to https://pc-builds.com/calculator/Ryzen_7_2700X/GeForce_RTX_2080_Ti/0Qe12n8A/ there shouldn't be much of a bottleneck. Could you share your GPU and CPU temps under load and idle? Maybe there is a cooling problem and your GPU is thermal throttling. Or your GPU is a dud, might want to return it. Have a good one

Could you give us more info on what your budget is, what kind of games you want to play and maybe what resolution you want to play them on (720p, 1080p ... ) for example? That would help people help you. Have a good one
