The Division DirectX12 Performance Improvement
Outs1d3r81 replied to Outs1d3r81's topic in PC Gaming
I ran the benchmark in DX11 with the latest Nividia driver and then repeated the benchmark after enabling DX12 and restarted the client. -

Please share your experience when you do. It may simply be that is is "helping" my older i7 that is giving me the improvement but it will be interesting to see. -
The Division DirectX12 Performance Improvement
Outs1d3r81 replied to Outs1d3r81's topic in PC Gaming
I use Windows 10 and as far as I know you need Windows 10 to use DX12. I am asking the question to a wider community because maybe my system is an anomaly I do not know. If I look at some of the tests that where done when they first enabled it on PTS the same applied as per normal slight improvement for AMD slight reductions for NIVIDIA but these where on test benches whit top of the line consumer grade CPU's. I read on reddit that as the division is processor heavy DX12 may help with older CPU but my i7 is not that old or under powered or is it? It may be that it is moving load to the GPU that is giving me the bump. -
The Division DirectX12 Performance Improvement
Outs1d3r81 replied to Outs1d3r81's topic in PC Gaming
Never is a long time but that is the exact reason why I was asking this question as the performance increase was suprising. -
So I downloaded the latest update for The Division last night that enables the DirectX12. I was interested to see the difference in performance so I proceeded to the Benchmark tool and the result was a average frame rate of 85FPS on ultra settings with DirectX11. I enabled DX12 restarted the game client and reran the benchmark and my my average FPS when up to 110FPS. I was surprised and as this is a benchmark I played for a couple of hours and the game consistently maintained a a frame rate of about 105 to 110 which where previously it was around 80 even when it gets extremely "busy" with large mobs and explosions. It also felt much smoother than it previously did. What is the experience in the rest of the community I would love to hear your feedback. Only EA Servers for BF 1 no Gamservers servers

Yes there is unlike what people think wild animals dont walk in the streets and we do not stay in mud huts. I stay in Namibia and we actually have high speed internet -
Only EA Servers for BF 1 no Gamservers servers
Outs1d3r81 replied to Outs1d3r81's topic in PC Gaming
So nearly a month has gone by and information is trickling in, in drips and drabs but nothing material or concrete. Still feels like we will not have servers but I am still holding out hope. I will not buy this game if their are local servers will rather spend the cash on something else. -
I am on the fence and will remain on the fence until the sort out the server debacle. We had BF3 and BF4 servers in Southern Africa that allowed us to play with a 40 - 70 MS ping. To expect met to fork out 60 - 70 USD to play on a 150 - 250 ms ping is not acceptable. At to this the fact that information on the SRP is not forthcoming you can expect that this will be the same BS as is currently the case on consoles with servers in the US, Europe and Australia (Pre-Dominantly as legislation will prevent them from selling in Aus if they did not) it will not change. So the game looks awesome but if your not fortunate enough to stay in the countries that currently have servers I would not spend the money.

Definitely a different way to look at it. I will wait and see and really hope that they contract out server space thanks for a different perspective. -

You will be able to rent a server but only from EA as far as we are aware EA has no hardware in Africa and the closest will be Europe leaving us with a 200ms latency which is ridiculous with gameservers they had servers in Johannesburg and Cape Town so with BF3 and BF4 latency in Windhoek was around 60 to 80. -
So according to the article below you will only be able to region to a server from EA after launch. This is bad news for me an most gamers in Southern Africa as we where able to rent gameservers servers with previous Battlefield titles and have decent latency. With this move in you do not stay in the US or Europe you will be pretty much poked and will have a 200 ms ping. I cancelled my pre-orser as a result as I do not enjoy a 200ms ping or being abused and told to play in own region when we do not have the option. Bad move by EA won't by any game where they insist on hosting the server. https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/rent-a-server-for-battlefield-1

I would not be worried at around 71C (I assume this is underload) taking into account that that the delta to the max operating temp of the card where it will start to throttle is still 23C (94C) and it therefore still well within the operating window. I live in Namibia (Just above South Africa) and it is currently winter here so the ambient is between 20 - 25 and my temps sit around the 60 - 68 mark and I am pretty sure that I will go into the 70 ish range when it is summer (Ambient will be around 33 -35). When you should become worried is when you start running into the high 80C temps IMO. I used to have a GTX770 OC and that card ran very hot and would hover around the 75 - 78 mark under full load and it is still running to years on. FYI I also run an AIO (H100i GTX) on my CPU and its happy with its temps. Also helps my GPU temps by a couple of degrees as the ambient inside the case is a couple of degrees cooler than it would have been with a traditional air cooler.
