As someone with the corsair void I can not recommend it. I bought it as a replacement for my razer headset and was deeply disappointed with its sound quality. I mean it still works but if I could go back I would have chosen something else.

HyperX Cloud 2 is legendary among the gaming community, and will offer much better sound that the Corsair cans. I must admit though, the Voids look pretty cool.

I have the Strix 6G NON OC, the simple one.
I choose it because of the 3 vents. It's very silent and has yet good temps.
I managed to set an OC (exactly like the Strix OC version), with no additional voltage. In my country the price difference between them is about 40 USD.
I did not consider to spend that extra for the OC version. I did upgrade from the GTX760 OC, so I used to buy OCd cards before.
Not sure if the Strix is one of the best 1060s but I'm very happy with it.
IMO a 3 fans card should have better noise/performance ratio.
BUT is sooo big. I have a Define R4 and I removed the top drive cages to fit it.

    Good luck choosing one.

i am currently using the 1060 strix oc, i cannot say it is the best out their but so far it has great performance. I have no idea what they cost in Canada though

well I think you should consider power consumption and acoustics too. Both the RX480 and the gtx 1060 have very similar performance, and even though amd outperforms in dx12 and vulcan, most games favor nvidia over amd. The 1060 runs very cool and has better overclocking. My very own 1060 runs at 35C idle and 62C under load (overclocked to 2100MHz).

well it is not that simple. YOU DO NEED some academic, hands on knowledge and reading tutorials, books and watching videos wont get you that far. Right now Im getting my BA in computer engineering and networking. I have taken  4 courses about networking and Im still missing 2 just to get my degree. Packet tracer is like really basic, eNSP is like the low-middle ground of networking. The good  stuff begins with virtual machines, voip and networks. The real deal is working in a data center or network center with actual routers, switches, AP and so on.
Since you say that you dont have access to actual cisco routers , set up a virtual box with several pcs, switches and routers. Practice many network configurations and learn as much as you possibly can, especially the commands.

Yep like most things to do with education, it doesn't mean much until you actually go out and do it where you find out not everything is perfect or by the book .

Packet Tracer is very basic yep, but then if all you need is something to learn on for CCNA it does the job. CCNA is rather basic too in a sense, it covers a hell of a lot but it's all fundamental stuff and extremely important. Not having done something like CCNA is like driving a manual car solo without ever having taken any lessons lol.

How far does the courses your doing cover btw?

P.S. When I did CCNA they were still covering Frame Relay and Serial links.

xGGAx reacted to Enderman in What do you have to carefully read when buying a graphic card?
    1) get one with a 2-3 fan cooler

    2) get one that looks good to you

    3) get one that's not expensive

That's pretty much everything. You can ignore the specs because they are all the same card and will all perform the same on average.

IMO you should go with something like the zotac gtx 1080 articstrom unless you are doing a custom loop or something like that. The waterblock on the zotac covers the full pcb including the vrms.

anyone with an older graphics card (like 2 or more generations)  should upgrade to pascal. The 1060 is the sweet spot for gaming right now.

the gtx 1060 or the rx 470 seem like the obvious choice here. You could get a few extra dollars by picking a smaller psu, something like 650w will do just fine.

I feel the pain of OP. I live in South Africa and we suffer from exactly the same issue here. Limited product selection, incredibly hiked prices on computer parts, phones etc. It is incredibly annoying as we have a large PC and gaming industry here but have to deal with incredibly shitty pricing on the products.

A lot of people resort to waiting for friends to go to the USA and then give them a shopping list of products to bring back.

Being in the EU doesn't mean anything. If nothing, most of the times we get the shorter end of the stick. Looking at the GTX 1080, you can't get it below $840 here, and that's if you're lucky. Same for all electronics. And I don't even want to mention VAT.
It's the same in more advanced EU countries.

If you look at my rig, I paid ~$1240 for it 2 years ago.

xGGAx reacted to SpaceGhostC2C in Feeling like a second class customer...
It depends really. You can get a 1080 in Germany for the equivalent of around u$s 700 or so.

Coming back to OP's point, it typically help having limited regulatory wedges and a sizable market in terms of demand around you. Spain is overall cheaper than Germany, but most of the times you find cheaper hardware in Germany (not always, though, but mostly). I'm guessing that, regardless the demand per capita, the total demand in DF can't be too low, so import fees and intermediary margins can be more of an issue (countries like Argentina have additional taxes on electronics to "foster domestic production", which doesn't really happen anyway, I don't know what's the situation in Mexico with NAFTA etc.)
