xGGAx reacted to W-L in Random coil whine fixed with new PSU?
That can occur at times with different PSU or even different ones of the exact same model, as it can be a combination of that exact PSU and GPU that can cause coil whine to occur. It's why it's basically just up to luck most times if they cause coil whine or not.

xGGAx reacted to TrigrH in Random coil whine fixed with new PSU?
Thats how it works, combinations of PSUs and GPUs can cause GPU coil whine, sometimes one or both are at fault.
If the PSU was the one with the coil whine then id put that shit in the bin.
Also seasonic X-series are amazing units, that PSU should last you a good 10 years.

xGGAx reacted to VTF5252 in Random coil whine fixed with new PSU?
Coil whine is dependent on so many other factors. The biggest is load. My psu will whine when under a just right load. High loads and it goes away. Or if vibration is just right, I can stop a fan and it will go away. If it's a big enough issue you can open the psu and use paper to shim the coil's core so that there is no room to vibrate although i would not really recommend this.

Sometimes it can also be resolved by locking framerate down.
In the retired rig, I had a GTX 560 Ti and a Cougar 750w gold unit I bought on sale. That combo never yeilded any coil whine. When the PSU had a failure, I grabbed a cheap Fractal Integra unit. Suddenly I had coil whine.
When I rma'd that unit, Fractal sent me a 750w version by mistake and I thought sweet, better unit. Yeah, it whined too. Figured out the culprit was game menus rendering hundreds of useless frames. Once locked, whine went away.

xGGAx got a reaction from Changis in Windows 10 reformat help needed (ASAP if possible)
Use windows refresh. All settings, programs and files will be removed safely and I doubt someone will bother making a deep scan to recover them

xGGAx got a reaction from ARikozuM in SATA to USB adapters (they all suck?)
the drives were properly formatted, initialized and they all had files in them. I made sure they were fine using one of these . They show up almost instantly using that dock.
I forgot to mention that. I tried them on 3 different PCs. The first one had win XP, second one Win7 x64 and third one Win10 x64. Even tried one drive on Debian8 x64.

xGGAx got a reaction from MrAlbertrocks in When to replace PSU?
Reasons to upgrade:
1. You are getting a new, more power hungry graphics card.
2. Your PSU is too old already.
3. You are adding more components to your system (more HDDs, Lighting system, watercooling, etc)
4. You want a lower electric bill ( getting a gold or platinum psu would save around 30% more electicity).

Get the ASUS Z170-A. It is the best bang for your buck motherboard out right now.

xGGAx reacted to Energycore in GPU at full clock in idle.
Your driver control panel should have an option that's called power management mode. Try to set that to "adaptive".

xGGAx reacted to Sniperfox47 in USB 3.1 Gen2 Front Panel Header requires a compatible case
There's nothing saying case makers can't do something like that. The whole thing with this though is that it lets you have the controller chip on the motherboard side and just connect to the case port with a passive cable and no electronics.

keep in mind that wireless router, Access point and wireless extender are different devices. Some AP can be configured as wifi extender but not the other way around.

Have you set the GPU in Nvidia control panel too maximum performance

xGGAx reacted to AMD Spec in gtx 1070 topping at 1506 mhz on League
Can u use Msi after burner to monitor the gpu usage , core and memory clocks while playing and post a screen shot ? make sure u are in a team fight ?
while overclocked , turn off Vsync and fps cap
also turn on high performance from control panel
btw my fps also drops in lol sometimes , usually during spectating but nth out of the ordinary during normal matches . optimization issues i guess ?
but when u upgrade the monitor , the demand will increase yes but u will still get max fps since this gpu is already an over kill for this game
whats ur cpu tho ?

xGGAx got a reaction from Hydraxiler32 in Skype Accounts getting Hacked
I woke up this morning to find a security alert in my phone. The message was from Microsoft so I was worried to say the least. Long story short, my skype account was hacked and used to send spam( or phishing) urls to my contacts.
I did some googling and I found this:

Keep an eye in your Skype account, enable 2 way authentication and disable your skype alias for sign in

well, they can easily generate usernames or use common combinations.
Another thing is that skype apparently disabled the login attempt limit during the MS merge. So hackers can try unlimited number of passwords for any given username. A bot or script can do this in minutes of even less.

xGGAx reacted to ARikozuM in Virus affecting performance
Battlefield currently has a few issues causing high CPU usage. We may have to wait for a patch from DICE, if there is one.
-
xGGAx got a reaction from ARikozuM in Virus affecting performance
it is not a virus, bf1 is cpu intensive and poorly optimized despite what linus said in his video.
So, I guess you are running the latest patch and the latest geforce drivers, right?(new drivers came out today). Have you tried the maxvariablefps mod?
