  1. yeah is has to be lower than 980 but better than 970, at $250 seems like a good deal
  2. New pictures and info about the gtx 1060 http://wccftech.com/nvidia-gtx-1060-3dmark-benchmarks-leaked/ http://wccftech.com/gtx-1060-fe-graphics-card/ Edit : Added second link
  3. yes and yes. If you don't want to overclock get something a little cheaper, for instance: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132575&cm_re=asus_H170-_-13-132-575-_-Product same amount of usb ports and the 6600 or 6700 will do just fine with it Edit: Please note this mb does not support SLI, only crossfire setups
  4. Assuming your psu is ok, did you try disabling the over surge protection? I was having the same issue on my pc which is barely 3 weeks old. On every cold boot I would get that warning message as well. After disabling the option the problem went away. Some people think that the protection is way too sensitive, who knows? I have a decent ups with line conditioning so i dont need more protection on my mb.
  5. Im using the Asus Z170-A which is pretty decent, it has exactly what you need: 2x USB 2.0 , 2x USB 3.0 , 2x USB 3.1 10Gbps (one of them is type C) plus 2x headers for usb 2.0 and 3.0 hdmi, dp, etc. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132566 if you want something cheaper try asrock
  6. It is ok for light gaming (minecraft, starcraft II, battlefield 4 on medium?) so yes, it is ok if you have a decent GPU.
  7. Very well, is this good enough for you? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-fx-8370e-cpu,3929-6.html even older i5s outperform the fx. In the end it all comes down to gaming performance vs video editing. Id pick gaming performance any day.
  8. i5 all the way. AMD does not stand a chance http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-vs-AMD-FX-8370
  9. Yeah, it depends on your setup tho For example the i3 6100
  10. I'm in the same boat as OP, I just built a new skylake system and the only thing missing is the GPU. After going back and forward Ive decided to wait at least until the GTX1060 comes out. That way we can compare the overall price/performance ratio of the nvidia and amd cards. So I say wait a little longer, prices should be lower for 1070 and 1080 as well.
