Wouldn't see why you would be able to get a refund this far in. Seems like you just want the newer graphics card..

Pretty sure its available on Newegg for 289.99 (although its sold out!)
Seen a few people benching them so far, they almost broke the 50 FPS mark on Extreme HD Preset for Unigine Valley.  (I get 46.5 at 1280/7400 on my MSI Gaming GTX 760). Stocks GTX 760 gets like 39-39.5 I believe it was.

I bought my GTX 760 MSI Gaming for 269.99 CDN (259.99 on American sites).  I would have easily paid the extra $20 for a top binned card, backplate etc.,

Seen some of their cores near/at 1400Mhz which is pretty insane without voltage tweaking (still only has the +12mV which does nothing really).

To the guy above - the 7950 is not better then the GTX 760.  This is misinformation and you're probably going by Linus' performance review which isn't a fair comparison due to several facts (ie. reference vs non-reference, decent OC vs poor OC).  HardOCP has a GTX 760 OC review against the 7950 which puts them at similar performances even when OC.

In the end you can't go wrong with either card as they perform the same.  You do get three games with the 7950 though so keep that in mind, also keep in mind that the cheaper 7950s are Sapphire (i'd never buy one of those 3L versions) and the comparable GTX 760 like EVGA/MSIs are extremely well built imo

Either this forum is heavy on the AMD Fanboys, or heavily misinformed from that horrible "performance" review from Linus'.

    Basically this.

Even the Titan doesn't benefit from having 6GB of VRAM. (Example:  Dirt Showdown uses 1839mb at 3840 x 2160, and is completely unplayable.)

All of this crazy amounts of RAM is just marketing.  Anything over 2-3GB for a single GPU right now = wasted.  Now AND in the future.

I don't see a visual difference in FXAA vs MSAA to be honest.  I don't pick it up when on games lol.

Also I don't see why people think that next gen that we are all of a sudden going to need more way more VRAM.  You do understand that the 8GB for the next gen consoles are for the system and VRAM.
They are set for 1080p with weaker GPUs then most decent video cards nowadays.  I don't see the next-gen consoles using more then 2GB for VRAM, 3GB VRAM at most.  They only have 5GB overall for the game to play with.  (DDR3 for X1, GDDR5 for PS4).

Compare it to our mid-range GPUs right now.  I have 8GB DDR3 Ram - 1.5GB used on OS/Steam/Media Server etc. Plus my 2GB VRAM.  I technically have 8.5 GB to play with.

Just because a card has 3-4GB of VRAM doesn't mean it is fast enough to make use of it. Please don't start with console optimizations either, I see plenty of people using 8800GTs playing at higher res/settings w/ more FPS then the current consoles.

Its the same generation as the 600 series and 7000 series cards. The only cards you could call a newer generation would be the GTX 780 or Titan. All still based on 28nm, the 600/700 series basically use the same architecture. The 760 is a mix between a GTX 670 and GTX 660 Ti. Lower end cards off the same batch as the GTX 680/770.

You post that video without any knowledge. He is comparing a reference low OC GTX 760 against non-reference decently OC cards. The hardocp one is a much better one to go by.Wish you guys would stop being ignorant and understand that performance review he posted is a joke and completely irrelevant to anyone who actually dug into the cards he tested and at what clocks. My GTX 760 with its OC beats his horrible OC by 12 percent. I ran his numbers then mine. Linus should stick to unboxing videos.
Also an average overclock for a 7950 is not 1200 plus on the core. Out of 2200 cards the average is around 1150.

No, when both are overclocked the 7950 is significantly faster than the 760 not just by 5%.

At stock both perform about the same depending on the game and the anti aliasing setting, however the 7950 comes with 3GB of VRAM, is less expensive and comes with 3 games for free.

    What's your budget?
Don't get bought up into all this VRAM hype. You'll run out of GPU power before VRAM will be an issue. IMO the 760/770/7950/7970 doesn't need anymore then 2gb ram as they are too weak to run high resolutions.

If you plan on SLI/Crossfire, yeah sure go for 4GB. But single card 2/3GB is plenty and I wouldn't waste more money on 4gb. No point in measuring usage from games as they will sometimes use whatever is available. With my 560 Ti I didn't feel it needed anymore then 1GB.

If you're budget is $250, get a GTX 760 or 7950. Both cards are equally as good, at stock the 760 is faster, at overclocks the 7950 is faster but they give the same game play experience. Maybe a 5% difference in performance when OC'D between them.

    If you're budget is $320ish get a 7970.

Keep in mind you get three games with the AMD 79XX series now too.

You can wait for the 9XXX series, but with technology you could always find a reason to wait.

Judging by how relatively weak the next-gen consoles are CPU wise. I think its safe to say my i5 2500k will be good awhile yet.
