  1. My first professional headphones were the AKG Q701's and once those broke after three years of continuous use, I bought the K712's. I love the sound clarity from these two models but they lack the bass and sometimes the wide frequency range will hurt my ears. My ears began to become very sensitive so I started using my speakers instead and that helped a lot. I went back to them a month ago and the pain kicked back in immediately. I will be looking to sell my K712's soon so I wanted to see if I could get some recommendations from the community. Some music I listen to is rap music (Kendrick Lamar mainly), electronic/indie rock (Pheonix), and classics from David Bowie and MJ. So basically I would like clarity all around the spectrum without sacrificing bass response, if that even exists. Been listening to my Shure se215s when I travel and the only thing I don't like about them is that they have a small static issue. But since I got Spotify premium the issue lessened a bit.
  2. I use solidworks, revit, and some autocad. I do not have a separate workstation but I want to have a computer at home that can do it all. I just recently finished my cad classes for my degree and I wont finish it for another two semesters. I just want to have a pc that is awesome and my own.
  3. So right now I have been rocking a z97 rig from 2014 with an 4790k and gtx 970's. Parts list : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KcZFhq New parts list so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Rxn8kT However I want to got smaller with my next build. Like what the title says, I mainly game, consume content and do creative work right now. My profession is CAD and I work in many different applications that benefit from a strong CPU. But that being said I would like to venture into photo/video editing and streaming in the future. My computer drives a 1440p monitor and a 1080p 16:10 monitor and will probably never be hooked up to anything else. So my question is should I got for AMD or Intel? I would love a 6 core cpu and I don't think I would need anything higher. I was researching about the 1700X ryzen cpu but I just find it hard to give it consideration because of the image AMD is changing into right now. I have had no problems with my 4790k and I just find it hard accept that AMD might not have any better cpu stability than Intel right now. Also right now I hate the options we have for Matx am4 boards. I really wanna see like a asus am4 rog gene or a sabertooth before I make my decision.
  4. I think I'll wait to see if asus drops a high end am4 matx
  5. Anyone know why this is? https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B350M-A-CSM/
  6. yes I do and im staying away from 27inch
  7. But I'm not if I was to water cool I would get a founders card
  8. OHOH sorry I made the parts list for a water cooled build. SHould I get the Asus strix or the Evga ssc acx
  9. can you explain the different between the asus and the evga card coolers

  11. Almost three years ago I made my first PC build ever. It was over kill but I was coming from a shitty HP pavilion. First PC Build Log : https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/200382-empirical-by-darkmatter/ Current State Pcpartpicker : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KcZFhq Now you might be thinking "why upgrade? all these specs are still good today!" Well my answer is simple, I hate the effects of SLI and I want a system that isn't comparable to a pile of cinder blocks. So I want to build a MATX small form factor system. Almost everything is set in stone at this point except for the CPU. I want a 6 core processor because my profession CAD design and I will definitely need one if I go into architecture. Another reason is for streaming. I play a lot of creative based games that have high graphic settings so I would like to share my experience with my viewers. New Build Pcpartpicker : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KvK2LD I've always wanted to water cool my pc, simply for the looks really. But it's not worth it for me because I don't overclock that much.I'm all for the looks but spending upwards of $700 for looks is something my budget can't handle. That being said I would love a silent computer (FT02 windtunnel). So tell me what you guys think!
  12. I problem with ultrawides is I just think they might be too big. I love my 27" monitors but I don't like how close they are to television size. Considering getting the Dell UP2516D and the Dell U2415 Doing ultrawide research now
  13. I would but my profession is CAD design so a curved monitor would screw up my work space in the application.
  14. GPU will not be a problem. planning to upgrade my current dual 970's to a single 1080ti
  15. For basically my entire PC life I have used dual Asus PB278Q's (One in landscape and the other in portrait). I love these monitors but it always feels like I'm staring at televisions when I work/play. Plus one of them has a few dead pixels. In the past I had my heart set on a high refresh rate monitor from Asus because my main game was CSGO. However these days I don't play competitive FPS games anymore because they take up way too much of my time. Also I am starting to prefer more story-based, creative gaming. My perfect monitor would be a High resolution (<4k because I don't care), IPS, Gsync monitor. The being said, I don't believe anyone makes a <27in gsync IPS display right now. So with the research I have done so far I am VERY interested in these two monitors: Dell U2515H (Main Monitor) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260274 Dell U2415 (Secondary Monitor) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824260233 Tell Me what you guys think! Would love to see people's opinions.
  16. What do you guys think are the chances for a company to release a 2560x1600 GYNC IPS 100hz ish monitor in the next few years?

  18. That NCase build looks like it was super fun the build. How bad is it on terms of maintenance? do you have to work some risky water cooling magic ?
  19. I'll be testing in the morning. its been a month since I last tested them
