5600mhz / cl38 is faster than the 5200mhz CL40.  The mhz is the speed, the CL is the timing.  In general you want as fast MHZ as possible with the lowest CL ( timing )
Use this website to check the part number on RAM vs the motherboards RAM compatability list to be sure you get RAM that works with your motherboard. 5600mhz CL38 / CL36 is a nice middle ground. I use 5600mhz CL36 with my 7700x.  You need to manually enable XMP in the BIOS so the ram runs at 5600, out of the box it will run at 4800mhz.  This might have been a bit confusing so if you have any questions please ask! 🙂

Between those two, yeah the 5600 is better.

That said, with DDR5 you really want to be going for the 2x16GB configurations, otherwise it actually makes more sense to stick to DDR4 instead. 2x8GB DIMMs have much less bandwidth available to them since they're organized worse, so even a significantly lower clocked 2x16GB kit will perform better. Looking through that site, one of these two kits would be what I'd get depending on how much you can spend.

The second kit is the better of the two.

Just get something from Dell/HPE/Lenovo. you don't want a diy system here.

But id really get a synology or simmilar, will work much better here.

Okay, so those temps are fine.
A popular case fan for great airflow is the noctua.
Here is a link to the noctua site with different fan model comparisons.

I just did a build in the Phanteks p400a digital, and it's a really nice case.
Any mesh front panel style cases are usually great for air flow.

Alexaldin reacted to Entropy. in Substitute to an old Razer mouse, what to pick?
It looks like Mad Catz makes mice that are comparable to the Razer Ouroboros. What mouse is better is pretty subjective, I'd try to go out to a local store that might have them and try them out. I beileve I have a similarly sized hand and the mamba elite is working out fairly well for me (a little small but still quite useable), the deathadder seems to be pretty similar to that. The Basilisk (new) lineup actually isn't that much larger if at all, but like you mentioned they have thumb rests.

The company Roccat makes the Kone Aimo (remastered) and It's a well-priced heavy ergonomic mouse. I purchased it to drag click and it's personally a little too heavy for me (and it's *slightly* too large), but it's an overall good-option with nice features and a decent look.

Alexaldin reacted to Mateyyy in What Z490 for i7-10700k?
The Strix Z490-E is pretty much the only Z490 board from ASUS I recommend on here (other than the Prime Z490-P as a budget option), since it's the only one that's actually competitive with boards from other manufacturers in its price class (around €270-300).

If we're to ignore value, the Z490-F looks like a fairly solid all-rounder. The VRM is not as strong as on the Z490-E, but it should still have no problems with a 10700K (or probably even with a 10900K with a realistic daily overclock).
The most notable thing missing on the Z490-H compared to the Z490-F looks to be the front panel Type-C connector. Then there's one M.2 slot not having a heatspreader and the missing heatpipe, but those are pretty insignificant. The VRM is the same as on the F.

At the very least, I hope the competition will drive prices down. You might be able to get a motherboard for much better value.

Those are all good sata ssds, there are cheap ones, but they have their issues and can either be slower at tasks or potentially less reliable. Id get the cheaper of the blue or the mx500.

Well new hardware will release throughout this year, so you probably just have to wait a couple of months

I won't try to convince you to buy Ryzen. You can read/watch all the reviews and comparisons - ultimately it's your money and your choice.

Your PSU could use an upgrade. Depending on whether you want fully modular or not I'd recommend something like Corsair RM, RMx (fully modular) or Corsair TXM Gold, CX (2017) (semi/non-modular). Here's the current PSU tier list for more information: click here

I have just basic knowledge on monitors and personally I'm an ultrawide guy. I'm not the best person to ask for advice on this front, but someone else will be able to give you some good advice on that. In my opinion 4K is not worth it for gaming.

im on a amd 8350 with a rx 590 4k and i can play and stream movies just fine with it..games depends on what engine it is using. but most i play at 2k res. havent found a game i need to run 1080 yet.
your 1070 will be fine for that
steam link looks to be 1080 max.
looks like the ps4 also is 1080 max also
now 1080 will not look bad on a 4k if you go that route, but you will have the option to run uhd and 4k movies on it if you want
and for a 200 to 350 budget your looking at lower end 4k's i will let @TheFlyingTraut run you by some..hes better with knowledge in that area
1080 tvs that size are just about the same price but might have better options..but not much

    Alright, you asked for it.

The following image dump was done using a GTX 770 4 GB. The rest of my system specs are in my profile. I closed and re-opened the app to reset the data after each test.

A baseline, just sitting at the Windows desktop. Max is 181 MB.

Guild Wars 2. Extremely low VRAM usage. I loaded into one of the more complicated expansion maps, Tangled Depths, and ran around until it looked like it was as high as it was going to get. Maxed at 931 MB, but usually more like 600-800 MB.

The Witcher 3. Moderate VRAM usage. I loaded into Beauclair and looked around a bit, but it was clearly capping hard around 1900 MB and didn't want to budge. This is a game that knows what it wants.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, irrationally high VRAM usage with Very High textures enabled (which cases noticeable stuttering and terrain pop-in on my system). I ran the in-game benchmark and then quit the game right after. I think it would've landed somewhere in the 6 GB range if I'd had that much.
So the moral of the story is that the OP sees "Max: 4365" because that's the peak amount that was needed while running whatever application they ran. They just need a more demanding game to see > 4 GB in use.

Yep just download couple of free uningine benchmarks from here https://unigine.com/en/products/benchmarks
do an initial test and note average temp, FPS, clocks speeds and just how well you felt it went then download this
free overclocker https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner you can raise power to 110% no sweat and raise core and
memory 50 mhz at a time then have the benchmarks run for a total of 15-20 minutes and if anything was unstable lower the
clock back, if you feel temps are too hot just simply adjust the fan curve to have it run faster at lower temps. do this until as I just
said about stability do it until you are unstable then adjust it back to where you are stable, relax this program won't let you do anything
that will kill your card. any other questions or want to see it in a video

Have you seen the response to this ? They said they sent the cards already in the OC mode that you can activate through there app because most reviewers don't use it (the app). So they didn't modify the BIOS but activated a feature that most reviewers don't use. After that I agree that this whole thing is a little fishy because they could have said it to the reviewers
