TheEndIsNear got a reaction from Bramimond in What is the Weight of an empty LTT Backpack?
I didn't see anyone mentioned this before, but what is the weight of the LTT Backpack if nothing is inside it?

Weight is a factor for carry-on luggage as there is a 7kg limit and it affects how much stuff you can bring on plane.

TheEndIsNear got a reaction from DocSwag in Should i get a PC or DJI Spark?
People were saying that their Spark perform better than what linus had and concluded that LTT had a faulty one. So it actually is quite good aside from the battery life.

The only reason i'm considering to get a PC is actually to edit videos, because my laptop wont quite be able to handle that.

TheEndIsNear reacted to themctipers in Is paying extra for Vega and mining back the extra cash a good idea?
mining is always good as long as its profitable and you're not being an asshole about it
it'll take at least a month or two of constant mining, probably more since eth is going up and down and getting harder and harder to mine, etc etc

buy vega, game if you want, if not gaming then mine, otherwise .. fold?
also like vega can power tomorrows games at 1080/75hz and if you upgrade to 1440p/4k then you'll have headroom

TheEndIsNear reacted to mariushm in How does Synergy transfer Files between PC?
You probably mean gigabit network card using regular ethernet cable, which means data flows between computers at up to 125 MB/s . In contrast the maximum usb 3.0 speed is 5 gbps or about 600 MB/s.

If you have something big like 50-100 GB to transfer, in theory it would be faster to plug an external ssd on a usb 3.0 port, copy data on it, then connect the usb 3.0 drive to the other computer and copy the files to the local drive. It should be faster than 125 MB/s sustained between computers.

Wireless network cards have half the advertised speed in either direction, so for example if the wireless card says it can do 866 mbps, that means in either direction it can do only about 400 mbps or about 50 MB/s (ideal case, usually would be around 40 MB/s)

For smaller quantities or if you're lazy, copying over the network is fast and easy.

Duh, naturally when you drag a file from one computer to another computer, some software on one computer connects to the software on the other computer (synergy runs on both pcs in background) and the programs exchange data packets and transfer the file.
There's no guarantee the transfer would be super fast, because the transfer could be intentionally slowed down or it could be encrypted for safety. IN particular in the case of remote software products like TeamViewer or VNC software (tightvnc, realvnc etc) , file transfers have also low priority over the stream of data that sends user screen refreshes, mouse movement, key presses in the other direction.

You can always transfer files between two computers super fast, no need to use sinergy for that. Just share the folder with file and you can then simply access the share folder on the other computer and drag it to the local hard drive on that computer.  The file would be transferred reasonably fast, most likely much faster.

I personally prefer to install a FTP server software on one computer and i set up an account which allows users to access any file from the computer once they use the password for that account.
So on another computer, I can simply start a ftp client application, connect to my computer (a simple bookmark in the menu, a click) and drag files over and the client software can transfer multiple files simultaneously in order to use the maximum connection speed between computers. It's certainly much faster than using network share and i don't have to share the folder and unshare the folder every time, but it's not as "stupid easy" as dragging a file across computers.  It requires extra steps like starting the ftp client application and going to the folder i want to copy and dragging it to the local hard drive.

It's just an assumption. And I don't think 1 + 3 sounds as bad as 4, since you're not actually saying the word that sounds like death.

TheEndIsNear reacted to Naeaes in Are files the same after Internal HDD is inserted into enclosure?
Definitely. Once you've installed the new OS and it's up and running (really, make sure it works and can activate and so on) you can enter your new Windows, plug the HDD in, enter Disk Management and delete the old partitions. Some of them are situated on the drive in such a way that sadly you can't re-use the space but luckily we're talking about a few hundred megabytes so you're golden with just leaving them unallocated.

You can go take a look at the Disk Management right away (right-click the start button and go from there or just search for disk management or "create and format partitions") the ones that do have a letter assigned are the ones that you can see in "My computer" or whatever. The ones without letters are hidden. Depending on your OS version and settings, you should see one for Boot sector, one for OS, One for Data, one for back-up, once for recovery, one for re-installing the OS and so on and so forth.

Don't touch the partitions yet though. You do not want to lose access to your old OS before you have the new one up and running.

thats not too good of an idea as smaller drives have worse speeds and worse iops. just go for a single 480gb pny which is the best option imo.

damn. then go for the others. i wouldnt go for kingston or sandisk though. the performance is not that great. pick a drive from ocz, adata, crucial, etc at a drive ard 500gb with a price and warranty u like and you should be fine.

Google drives also stores it on the disk, and it syncs with online cloud storage so you can also view them online by loggin into google. i think hotmail also do the same thing with OneDrive. Pretty convenient for college work as its free and doc and pdf doesn't takes much space.

It depends on the engine, some engines get away with screen tearing cause its very minimal, while some are so immersive that it ruins your experience.

I say just get the 1060 and turn on V sync on the certain titles that have bad screen tearing

keep in mind that the 3GB model of the 1060 is also a little less powerfull than the full 6GB model. that being said, i also recommend the 470. 3GB VRAM is really just not enough anymore these days, as some games like GTA V and Rise of the Tomb Raider all use more already!

it should definitely be enough if you are only going to be playing older titles though, but for newer stuff 4GB is the standard these days.

A cheap CX430 will run that with no effort. The only reason to concern yourself with a "tier 1" psu is if the hardware is upper mid range to high end. Save yourself a bit of cash. The CX430 is the absolute lowest I would go tbh

Edit: I have a Corsair 430 laying around as a backup--it used to power an overclocked 2500k + a GTX 560 Ti and it never gave me trouble.
