  1. Its not that they auctioned it off after misrepresenting it. Its that they misrepresented it, knew that they were and chose money over quality, then were asked to send it back and chose to make more money then sending it back.*** This response obviously misses some context, in linus's mind he sees someone purchasing this as also a person to buy a 4090 instead of a 3090ti, which does make sense, but his conclusion doesnt clarify this, nor does any further determination as to the future viability of a 4090 variant. He should have spent more time communicating with Billet and ensured the video gave all sides. *** as @spotty pointed out, proceded from the auction were donated. My bad.
  2. Being an LTT viewer for 8 years now, the amount of corrections made after the fact has been alarming. I remember when they used to cut the video and insert a clip correcting mistakes, even for comedic videos, like the ONN TV video, and i was fine with that. Nowadays, using asterisks or pinned comments on big videos like GPU reviews is just bad. You cant look me straight in the eye and say this is okay. Honestly, it hurt me inside to watch the GN video. It really did, as im a big fan and have a ton of merch. But i cant let emotions or feelings change facts. When GN did the video on TMB and the backpack, i thought it was a bit harsh and didnt consider the human element. But this video is daming on a level that i just cant make excuses for.
  3. I remember when LTT would have videos reviewed by the writers, then by managment, then get pubished. It seems as this practice is gone.
  4. If you didn’t already know, Channel Super Fun is back! Linus has been teasing it for a while, hinting to how he hired a new producer, who up until a recent upload didn’t get to truly meet him. His name is Ethan Smith, and he is featured in the most recent upload to CSF, where they break into Linus’s house without him knowing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIwqKtD9u3Y Ethan’s first CSF video was the one where Linus got a realistic tattoo to prank Yvonne: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctTrCHmuZM4 Doing a bit of googling also had me procure his personal YouTube channel, which also contains a variety of fun oriented videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuA6NnavBeV7h85VZ238DCA Overall Id say Ethan is awesome. He has a wholesome personality, and with the scale and reach that channel super fun has, he has the platform to make it a great entertaining YouTube channel. Although I don’t think he will live up to the character that Nicky V had, he certainly has potential, and I cant wait to see what’s next from channel super fun. What do you guys think about the new Producer?
  5. The main part that makes it "crazy" is the thunderbolt setup. Linus is running everything through 1 thunderbolt cable, including audio interfaces, peripherals, and his display via his motherboard's displayport in port. What makes it worse is the fact that the CPU is AMD, which doesn't support thunderbolt 3 but does support USB 4. The thing is, USB 4 is not fully implemented yet, so he is using some random Thunderbolt 3 drivers that happened to work with the USB 4 controller on his board.
  6. I do watch my oil levels whenever I get gas, but I never knew about the transmission cooler. Recently my transmission has been hesitant to shift gears when I use the paddles, and people on other forums said my throttle position sensor might have an issue. Will probably have my friend who owns a mechanic shop take a look at it and see what it is. Overall the car has been great. the sound system was a definite downgrade from the X5, even though its the JBL system. I agree that the interior isn't the best, definitely not the most durable. I also upgraded the tires, as the Michelins on the car were really not great. Even though they are completely unnecessary, I fitted some PS4S tires, which i only did because I got a 30% discount on them as a set and could not resist. They make the car handle waay better, especially when the road is not completely dry. The only thing that annoys me is the suspension, as while its very soft and nice, it has a springy feel when going over bumps, almost like a trampoline. Its a thing that many reviewers noted, and an issue that did not exist before 2016.
  7. Hello everyone! I have been on the LTT fourm for a bit but never realized there was a thread about cars. Ive been into cars for a little while, but personally don't really own anything special. My current daily driver is a 2016 Toyota Avalon, nothing special, just wanted a reliable daily that had a V6 and was comfortable. i commute 60 Mi per day including weekends, with some days being even longer, so I spend a lot of time in my car. My prior car was a 2008 BMW X5 3.0si, it was a very good car as far as BMW's go, reliability was surprisingly well, but unfortunately it got into an accident, and instead of fixing it myself, I donated it to a technical school. Not much else to say, but it was cool finding this thread!
  8. Hi, i've been wanting to solve this issue for a long time, but i haven't found a good solution, so i decided to post here, hoping somebody knows something that may work. I have been looking into ways to stream my desktop over the internet to multiple Chromecasts at low latency. I started using Youtube, but even with the best encoder presets, and Ultra low latency enabled, i only mustered about a 4-5 second delay. I looked into other streaming services, hearing that mixer has a really good latency, but there is no option to make the stream private, same with twitch. I then explored VLC, and after getting it set up, I still got about a 3 second delay, which is better then YouTube, but not enough (this was streaming locally too, not even over the internet). I heard some people say that FFmpeg may work, but I could not find out a clear guide on how to get that working to stream to a Chromecast. Also, i need this to be easy for my friends to cast, as they aren't great with technology.
  9. the thing is, if im gonna buy another drive, i would prefer for it to be new. and I don't have the money for that
  10. is there any way to fix it? i tried changing the drive to GPT in GParted, but it gave the I/O error.
  11. tried in multiple computers, all showing the same thing.
  12. Ive exhausted all the options i know of, so I'm hoping somebody with some hard drive repair knowledge can help me out. I'm in the situation where I am in need of a hard drive, and i have this 2tb drive that is having a bizarre issue. Since i don't have the money to go out and buy one at the moment, i wanted to use this one temporarily. Ive spent two days trying to get this drive to work. Its issues have nothing to do with the actual drive (being the motor, heads, etc. All are functional and i hear no abnormal sounds from the drive), rather its the drive's communication to the computer. Ive tried everything, from a basic windows format, to using utilities like GParted, and also some other programs to get this drive to work. all have failed. -Windows format: results in an error saying windows cannot find the drive -GParted: any command, weather be changing partition table, deleting volumes, or formatting, results in this error: "I/O error" -TestDisk:Tried analyzing, gave an error, also saying that there are no partitions when there is. -Crystal Disk Info: Doesn't even show the drive at all -Device manager: shows up, and says "this device is working properly" (yeah right...) So now I'm turning to you guys. I'm hoping somebody with better insight to this can help me out, as i desperately need this drive to work just temporarily. I don't care about the files currently on it, its a scratch disk after all. Thanks in advance! I attached a screenshot of some things I'm encountering.
  13. Yes, it is. Iike i said, Intel with the stock cooler runs your CPU at 85c, and your rig runs it at 10c less. Also, you are nowhere near the t-Junction (100c).
  14. MCE (Multi Core Enhancement) essentially applies your Single Core max turbo speed to all cores. its like overclocking, it gets you more performance. if you disable it, yes your CPU will run cooler, but you loose that added performance.
  15. true, i am making an assumption on the +12 volt rail. can he take a picture of the label on the PSU? That would be handy for knowing what the thing can actually deliver.
  16. That BenQ one is nice. I did however found a slightly cheaper one that is 75 Hz out of the box. Plus, Ive heard good things from this brand too. https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-Monitor-Speakers-Brushed-E248W-19203S/dp/B07LG5XT8C/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=1080p+monitor+24"&qid=1566747227&s=gateway&sr=8-6
  17. While i do prefer EVGA, as I have had great experience with them, I have heard the Strix achieves better boost clocks.
  18. I would leave it on. Yeah your temps are a little high, but remember that the Intel stock cooler runs your CPU up to 85c. The T-Junction (max temp) your CPU can run at is 100c so I think you are fine.
  19. Its enough. Im assuming you have 2 sticks of ram and 2 hard drives.
  20. 75c is not bad but the fact that you have an AIO, that is a bit concerning. Can you run AIDA and do a stress test? it would be great to see a screenshot of the results to know what is going on. Also can you screenshot your task manager CPU Tab in idle and load scenarios? Here is a download link for AIDA 64 Extreme: download.aida64.com/aida64extreme600.exe
  21. This is my first time doing a network diagram, and i know it sucks really bad, but here is my Home Network Setup. For WI-Fi, i have around 30 connected wireless devices. (to be clear, all devices in this diagram are hard wired).
