  1. He doesnt need to bring his computer to school. He goes to a university 2 miles from his house, so he goes home after class right away anyways. He does most of his work at home anyways just edited post after talking to him... he admitted he does not need an i7... just wanted one.. *sigh apologies. yeah so disregard that requirement please! I'm not sure what you are getting at.. He doesnt need the portability since his school is very close to home.. and yes I told him that the i7's and gpu's in laptops are not as good as the components you'd build into a PC. just edited post after talking to him... he admitted he does not need an i7... just wanted one.. *sigh apologies. yeah so disregard that requirement please!
  2. Hello, so my friend is trying to buy a gaming rig. He mainly plays League, but will probably play Overwatch, CS, and the popular RPGs. I'm trying to convince him to get a PC rather than a laptop, but unless the PC is significantly cheaper than this laptop, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-legion-y530-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-1tb-hard-drive-black/6219200.p?skuId=6219200 he wont buy it. =Requirements= >He needs a wifi adapter even when he plays at home, so thats a must as well. >He does NOT need a mouse, keyboard, or monitor.. he already has those. **So I guess if you guys could help me find a build between $700-800, that'd be greatly appreciated! EDIT: His school is very close to his house, so he ends up doing all of his work from home anyways. Sorry if this brought confusion.
  3. I won't pretend to fully understand what you just typed out for me, but I'll take your word for it. Thank you, I appreciate it
  4. yeah he's definitely slightly spoiled right now haha... He mainly plays CS:GO, Fortnite, League of Legends... I agree with the dual channel. Do you have a better motherboard in mind? Regarding the power supply, I told him the same thing, but again he likes the fancy name and everything.. I'll try to convince him Thank you
  5. I'd agree (I have an ssd and hdd in my own pc), but since he plays many games, I didn't want to him to run into any storage issues. I figured he could always add that later.. Do you think it should be the other way around? (have a ssd and add a hdd later)
  6. Hello! My friend is looking to build his first computer, and has a budget between $800-900. He plans on upgrading in the future, but wants a PC he can play games on at 1080p with 100+ fps. He is used to his brother's computer which has a gtx 1080 and a i7 processor.. (all this to say he likes good graphics with high fps lol..) Here is his current build plan. Please let me know of any better ideas, or unnecessary parts, etc. Thank you! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/89ycxG
  7. I'll try... hopefully its that easy..
  8. I'll try a different cable, but my pc's power light isnt even turning on anymore (pc is still running)
  9. Not even close to overheating... pc wont turn on rn so cant check ?
  10. Hi so I built my computer about 2 months ago.. Occasionally my monitor would all of a sudden black out and search for a signal, yet I can still hear my pc running. Whenever I unplug my speakers from the jack in the back while the pc is on, it'll also replicate my issue.. Tonight, I was playing games, and now twice in the middle of my game I've had this happen to me. Please help! SPECS: MoBo: MSI B350M Gaming Pro RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2400MHz (1) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1050Ti PSU: EVGA 450 B3 HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSD: SanDisk 120GB Case: Cooler Master Silencio 352

  12. You've been a big help, and you fixed the issue, thank you If I could ask one more thing... Should I drag all the files except maybe "users" and "windows" over to my HDD?
