  1. In advance, I am not sure this is the right community to ask this question. For college I am working on a project where I allow users to influence my music composition. For this I use a socket.io server combined with node.js. I used to do this project with a colleague, but he cannot help this time so I am alone on this one. We know the program works because we used his wifi router before. This time I cannot borrow his wifi router. People will only connect to the server in groups of 5-6 people. Also I know I can run a hotspot on my laptop while being connected to my uni's network, but that's not really the way I would like to do it. The problem is that I would like this to work without an active internet connection and just use my laptop as a WLAN device, is this possible in Windows 10? Thanks in advance!
  2. My pc's boot time has been inceased by 60 seconds, it is now 80 and was 20. I am running a Samsung 850 Evo. After a random crash I had to reset my BIOS and now I have these bad loading times. It seems to be something in the BIOS that isn't right. i have tried booting with another windows disk and it takes the same amount of time. I don't know what to do at this point. Can someone help me? specs: i7-5820k msi x99a gaming 9 16 gb gskill asus strix 980
  3. Yes you are right that I selected this kit, in pcpartpicker I couldn't select the 3000mhz version. it is the same kit, but the 3000mhz version (like I wrote in the story).
  4. Aren't the Crucial Ballistix Tactical 2x8 3000mhz enough though? They are like 125 euro's right now, the cheapest they will be at the moment.
  5. Hi, So, second time I am asking for advice on my build plan, things have changed. I am looking to buy a new pc to replace my Mac Mini 2011 running bootcamp. The pc must be optimalized for music creation, as a second and third streaming and gaming. I usually play some light games (RL, LOL and Civ V). Tomorrow I am going to order the parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BPzQbj I have to add that I will use the stock cooler, the two 500gb ssd's I port over from the Mac, the ram will be 3000mhz out of the box (great deal in the local shop here) and the PSU is like 50 euro in the same local shop. In total it will cost me a total of 753 euro's. Also, I am a first time builder with a nagging dad who keeps telling me to knock off with this idea and that it is completely going to fail. This doesn't drive me nuts, it makes me want to go and prove him wrong! He was into pc's around the year 2000. So my question, is this build solid and are the parts compatible? Besides me wanting to get a good performance/value pc, I want to proof my dad I can do this! The GPU in question won't change no matter what, only if you can give me an alternative under 200 euro with 2 hdmi ports and a card that is overclockable. There is a big shortage in my country (like everywhere) with all the GPU's except the 1050 ti's. This card tickes every box and has the best value in my country. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi, I want to buy a R5 1600 with 16gb of ram, which I need for music production. Since Ryzen runs better with a higher frequency and this ram kit is for sale, 125 euro's for a 3000mhz kit, I was wondering if this kit will be compatible with the MSI B350 Tomahawk. I have taken a look at the manual to find the answer, but sadly I had no success. Maybe someone on the forum has tested this or has more knowledge on this topic. Thanks in advance!
  7. So the fan doesn't work yet... It seems to be due to the fan not being connected to a Tachometric sensor. Any idea's on how I can get this to work? can I just connect one of the other molex cables to make a third pin and call it a day? There is running 12v through the wire to the fan though, but it just won't spin..
  8. So I found the problem, I ordered a faulty cable. The red 12v cable had been disconnected from the Molex pin since it came right in the mail *sigh*. I contacted the store and I hope to get a replacement soon... I'll keep you up to date if a new cable will work or not.
  9. It is very late in the evening here, so I can't acces the PC right now. Tomorrow morning I'll try and push them together even harder. I connected the cable when the PC was off and then turned it back on and no spinning fan... I am just getting really frustrated at this point, because it should work but it doesn't.
  10. The black cable is indeed connected to the PSU. How about I cut loose the second female Molex on the splitter, will that maybe fix my power delivery? It should be delivering 12V of power to the fan, but sadle no magic is happening. Also there is no third pin on the male fan part. It should be for PWM control, which I don't need, but maybe it screws with everything?
  11. So I just bought this cable, but it isn't working, the fan is not turning on. I ordered the wrong one right? I just need to get a Sata to Molex cable and it might work? Thanks in advance! I am such a noob with these kind of things lol
  12. Thank you, you made it completely clear to me!
  13. Thanks for the link, so how does this run off the PSU?
  14. Yes there is a free Sata cable and even a free Molex (male) cable. So I will need a female Molex to male fan or a female Sata to male fan cable to connect the fan, right?
