thats why the Grays appeal to me because its a heavier linear switch

Consider the Kailh Box Heavy Dark Yellows, they are smooth even un-lubed, and the box switches add a lot of key stability.

  2. Blade 60 Angles looking good 👌, but lack of perfect symmetry makes me anxious 😟. Love hate relationship.

I want to get a better graphics card but I didn't leave headroom for my pc. If anyone could tell me 500 80+ bronze is enough for a 2060 and a ryzen 5 3600 that would be great.

It will provide enough wattage, however likely not the best option in terms of quality. Refer to this list:

Aim for tier B at the least.

Where are you located and what is your PSU budget? I an likely help to make a recommendation.

Also check for the Corsair CXm (grey label) they are good value and relatively inexpensive.

  4. Long overdue on the GMMK Pro.

Batch1 GMMK Pro, simple matching cable from Donut Cables. Gold rotary knob, Drop MT3 Camillo keycaps, Zealios V2 78g switches, and re-lubed the stabs with Krytox 205g0.

Now that it is available for order (no longer pre-order) it is one of the better options in terms of value.

  5. Dell XPS13 is a great Ultrabook it would top my recommendations, I recently upgraded to it from my previous 3-year old XPS13 and have been very happy with both.

Not sure on EU pricing but other good alternatives would be the HP Spectre, Lenovo Thinkpad, or the Asus ZenBooks.

  6. Key Dot Co is restocking switches, for those interested they sell out fast.

    C³ Kiwi Today, June 22nd @ 3PM ET (in 1hr) & 9PM ET

    C³ Tangerine Friday, June 25th @ 3PM ET & 9PM ET

I've been super happy with both of these, some of my favorite switches. The C³ Kiwi in particular is one the best Tactile switches I have typed on, based on the T1 stem but basically has been impossible to find in stock anywhere over the past 6-months.

    $300

For total budget this will go over but hot-swap PCBs in a 75% layout are hard to find right now. The KBD Bella DIY kit has the features you are looking for and is in stock.

    https://kbdfans.com/collections/75-diy-kit/products/bella?variant=34248579350667

The GMMK Pro is going to be the best, it has all the features you are looking for and is the best value. However, it's not yet regularly stocked, and it seems that you have to order a separate plate for ISO support or order the ISO version. Either way ordering one could take a few months.

    https://www.pcgamingrace.com/products/glorious-gmmk-pro-75-barebone-black-reservation

As of right now you cannot order an ISO version from Glorious, or the ISO plate. But sometime in Q2 they will update the options and one will be available, so it could be soon.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/gloriouspcgamingrace/comments/k8h88k/gmmk_pro_with_iso_de_layout/

Or it can be bought from other European vendors in ISO (assume a wait time).

    https://candykeys.com/product/gmmk-pro-iso

    https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/gmmk-pro-black-slate-75-tkl-barebone-iso-layout-black-slate_3620/

For PCB's only you could look for the YMDK YMD75 hot-swap PCB, but I think they sell out fast. Check BangGood, AliExpress, and Ebay.

There could be some other options as well, but these are a few I am familiar with that offer ISO and hot-swap compatibly +RGB.

...except for the fact that 3000 series have known to falsely trip its OCP way too often. Imo an avoid for a 3080, ill sooner go for something from Superflower, FSP, or Corsair.

Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure this was an issue with the older Focus series, was it not? If so this is not an issue with the new GX and GM PSU's. Unless there is an issue with the new GX-series as well that I am not yet aware of?

Gx850 from seasonic rated 80 gold will run on it 3080 and 5800x is this good or not? I havent built my pc yet and i dont wanna fry it so i need to know it this is a good psu cuz if it isnt ill replace it

The GX is a very good PSU (Tier A) and 850w will be perfect.

Refer to this list for PSU tiers:

Which Keyswitches is the most Clicky and Tactile? I'm using Kahl Blues ATM. I want to hear and feel when I press a Key and /or type.

Kailh Box Jades (Box Thick Click) are pretty decent for a clicky tactile switch, really nice for keycap stability as well.

    @DailyProcrastinator Sound signature?

    Similar ugly pitch/ping like Aluminium?

No 'ting' / 'ping' like aluminum, as it is a composite material. FR4 is a good middle ground between polycarbonate, which some people like for its flexible characteristics, but has more rigidity and strength, similar to aluminum, but without the sound characteristics. I have not used Carbon Fibre, but I imagine FR4 would feel similar.

That said, I do find that foam or a gasket between the PCB / Switch Plate / Case Back, makes a much more meaningful difference for type feel and mostly sound when comparing solid switch plates (Aluminum/Brass/Copper/Steel etc).

As I said before, whether or not Brass is a good choice for you will depend on your use case and switch preference.

Anybody experience how FR-4 feels in comparison to brass?

I would say it feels somewhere between polycarbonate and aluminum, stiffer than polycarbonate, and close to the stiffness of Aluminum. But nothing like Brass.

This said a backplate like Brass or Copper feels slightly more solid as it minimizes flex, Aluminum is not far off but is not quite as solid. Brass / Copper can feel more harsh if you have light switches that bottom out easy (light weight linear), but for my preference (heavier tactile) it feels like the click-bump during keystroke is more distinguished as there is no mushy feeling felt via plate flex.

Deepening on the board, if you get a solid backplate it can create a hollow ting sound when typing, this is where foam or a gasket makes a difference. If you are getting a kit that does not offer this but has a backplate option, a Brass or Copper backplate is heavier / more dense so it can slightly mitigate the 'ting' sound issue vs Aluminum.

Ultimately whether or not Brass is a good choice for you will depend on your use case and switch preference.

Thanks. For those of you who have Brass Plates, do they Feel and Sound Better?

IMO there is not much of a distinguishable difference between Brass and Aluminum (there is some), although I prefer it to polycarbonate by a mile, but this is a personal preference. I do find that foam or a gasket between the PCB / Switch Plate / Case Back, makes a much more meaningful difference for type feel and mostly sound when comparing solid switch plates.

Hi everyone, quick question. What kind of lube do you guys recommend/use for your keyboards? I'd like something that's available on Amazon Canada.

Not a whole lot on Amazon, other Canadian retailers other than Zeal are Keyspresso, Ash Keebs, and Alpha Keys

I have been using TriboSys 3204 on my stabs and switches, very happy with it.

When i get a hot swappable case later this year, kinda wanna give MX browns a try again before going back to gat browns. thoughts?

Worth a shot! Personally I find minimal difference between Cherry MX Browns and MX clones but worth trying out, you can buy Cherry switches for pretty cheap.

As someone who use to like MX browns, i kind of agree. It's bad, but mecha membrane is a thing.

MX Browns were my switch of choice as well prior to diving into this hobby, but they aren't that terrible. If you put them on a good board they feel okay, not a great tactile, but better than most lightweight linear switches IMO.

Why the 2400 speed tho? B560 does support up to 3200MHZ, and 3200 kits are $15 more.

I stand corrected, I was not aware the new B-series boards now supported memory OC again.

  19. Part will fluctuate in price, if I was building now:

I would not expect any normalization this year, just so you are prepared.

Otherwise, a few things to consider:

10600k has dropped to $250 recently, could be worth it if found at that price.

Memory shortage is a thing right now, prices are going up, could be well worth buying now. Also on B560 you cannot clock your memory to 3600Mhz, so waste of money.

Don't pay the Samsung tax for NAND flash, for nearly the same price you can get double the storage, and you really lose nothing. As long as you have DRAM cache. Also prepare for a shortage in storage as well, both SSD and HDD.

650W is enough, right now the 700W Pure Power 11 is the best deal.
