My little brother the other day came up to me while doing research on both YouTube and New Egg for my new build. This is the conversation that followed.
Him: What are you looking at.
Me: Computer stuff.
Him: Why?
Me: Because all the computers that I have now a slow (true, both my Mac's have huge bottlenecks)
Him: There slow, because you bloat them
Me: ......
I have no idea what he ment by that but still, when has the amount of data on a mechanical harddrive affect the speed of said drive?

Oh I could go on and on about this since I was a tech for a while and now am a sysadmin.
1. We saw an increase in phishing spam sent to our users wanting them to "confirm their accounts" to "keep them open". We send out an official announcement saying that we've noticed an increase in spam asking for users passwords and to not give out passwords in an email if asked. We end up getting about 20 users reply to the announcement with their username and password... fail...
2. Probably the funniest moment I've ever had in tech support was when someone walked into the place I was working holding an ethernet cable by both ends. He claimed that his machine had gotten infected with a virus and that he reinstalled Windows and it came back so he was convinced that the virus was "stuck in his ethernet cable" and was holding the ends up because he didn't want it to "fall out".

At work today. Had to try to explain to a lady ...data...like....just the whole ....everything...
What data is, how it travels, how its measured, what its called, GB's bigger than MB's.
Just about every one asks "how long will X amount of data last" "How much can I do with X amount of data" My answer is always...errrrrrr I cant tell you exactly. So they insist on giving me examples. "How many movies can I download?"....... I think these people are lucky im the one explaining this stuff to them. Otherwise they would never even begin to grasp it.

When I fix something for someone they usually blame me for any future problem but only after uninstalling the anti-virus software. I am now beholden forever to fixing that shitty laptop.

I was one of the counselors for a Boy scout camp because I thought it would be fun. Eventually, I ran into a spoiled brat who thought he was the bill gates of his generation. He claimed he got an i7 (no idea which one) up to 6GHz using the stock cooler (the one that comes in the box). I decided not to argue with him bc I didn't have the energy.

The actual heat death of a computer is way higher but those temps at a long time will shorten the life span of your parts considerably

But he was right.... about the HDD getting heavier that is. The extra weight is so small you can't measure it, but it is there.
