, Hi guys ! I rencetly decided to put a diy eGPU since most of the external solutions are really expensive and that I already have some spare parts left that could be combined to create a External Graphic Solution. First, I have an Dell XPS13 20174 full specs, thunderbolt 3 of course (so PCIE pass through), a R9 270X, a Antec Truepower Trio 650W and a PCIE Riser exntesion, x16 to x1. Since I think most of you know, the PCIE riser extension use to convert an USB cable for the x16 PCB to a x1, and i thought, since Thunderbolt can use fast PCIE like specs, I can just plug a USB C cable and make a external GPU ! For now it seems simple, or i'm missing something. So I started: Plug all cables to R9, on the x16 extension; plug the Molex for the PCB extension to Molex port (or with a converter to SATA), plug both 8pins connectors for card, jump the 24pin one to start psu and transfer energy for the R9, plug electric cable to PSU and switch it on. But now, my card wouldn't spin, did not produce any hot, my card is suppose to make his fans spinning so I know it works but nothing. And strangely I tried my PSU by also plugging a SSD to a SATA connector, its turning, but only when the 8pins connector are plugged into the card otherwise it stops. I've made a classic jump found on internet where I link the green and black (two in the middle I tried both) on the upper line of pins when looking at the pins. But I still don't know, I'll try on another PSU when I have one but my solution is acting weirdly for some reasons... Any idea ?

Hy guys, One of my friend have a gaming computer with an i7 4970 and a MIS H97 Gaming 3. He recently see that his watercooling fan is going max speed. He's using an Antec Kuhler H20 950 (single 120) due to the processor that produce a lot of heat. He was around 80°C on DayZ with Discord only in the background. At idle the temp are between 40 to 50. He installed Windows 10 and nothing happen after that (unless some ram issues that we fixed). We updated the bios of the mobo, but the problem went far after that, temps are giggling around 100°C when booting and stay at this max. When try changing thermal paste, nothing, disable OC (turbo boost was enabled) nothing, did every update we can stil nothing. We don't know what to do, he decided to clean entirelyhis computer and we are waiting now. Do you have any ideas? Thanks guys

Hy guys, I have an old server motherboard (Tyan i5300Px) that I am usng actually with two 500GB HDDs, when I boot the pc one of them is not recognize, I try on different plugging configuration because there is 6 SATA ports, and depending on the order, one of them can't work, and say "failure fixed disk". My drive don't have any problem, and all ports are working fine, I will make a new state for each drive on each ports just to make shure but, do you have any idea ? Why can't I use my HDD together ? (not in raid) Thanks

I don't completely understand what you mean Each HHD came from different computers: The first 7 is from a customised pc that we build, the second one came from a laptop, and the Vista one came from a pre-build machine. The laptop had some issues that we fixed. Normally he's fine I don't remember exactly the windows version that was installed... How installing a new windows will keep and recognize the activation key if everything is removed by replacing the windows already installed ?

Hi guys, So here's my problem. I have currently 3 HDDs with windows install on each, they're pretty old, Two of them are probably Windows 7 and the last one should have Windows Vista on it but i don't remember which one. Well, when I tested my HDDs, two of them boot BUT, when the first logo of windows appear, juste the little pixels of colors, the PC restart completely. And after that he asked me if I want to try Without Errors. Still coudn'lt load. One of my HDD, on 7 I think, proposed me to launch a maintenance software to detect errors but nothing happened. What could I do because I still have 3 windows licences, but I don't have the key activation or anything like that, even the CD installer. Could someone help me ?

I also want to know if some pins are "useless" or not, because now the motherboard starts when I wasn't before I take care of it EDIT: The picture that I took can fool some of you, there is not that many pins, it's just the light from my desk.
