Finished putting together a new system over the weekend and I am wondering if my CPU temps are too high. The build consists of the following: Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow Motherboard: Asus Z690 Strix Wifi Gaming D4 CPU: Intel i7 13700K running stock GPU: Galax GTX 1060 6GB Memory: 32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 3600 running at 3600 AIO: Top mounted Corsair Elite Cappelix H150i 360mm running 3 120 mm LL fans in an exhaust configuration Intake fans consist of 3 120mm Corsair SP and a 120 mm LL exhaust fan. My CPU was hitting temps as high as 90-95 degrees C as I was downloading software, transferring files, and updating drivers etc...and around 40-50 degrees C at idle. Gaming in COD MWII I'm sitting around 75-80C. I've tried different fan curves in the iCue software from quiet to extreme and the temps stay about the same. Are these temps too high? I pulled the cooler off the CPU to check thermal paste (attached as a pic) and wondering if the paste is spread okay? All screws are tightened for a good snug fit. I'm at a loss, or perhaps worrying about nothing. Hoping you all can help...

I've been going back and forth on this for a few days. I am trying to go with a white theme and I did not see many (maybe none) white Z790 boards.

Getting ready to build a new PC to upgrade my old i7 6700k. Current parts list is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NP2GMb Not sure what I want to do about a GPU, currently have an older 1060 6GB Galax card. Can I use the older card in the new system until I decide what I want to replace it with? New CPU will be an i7 13700k. Currently have a RTX 3070 as a placeholder on the pcpartpicker list.

Yes, thank you. I am familiar with that. Just trying to not have to manually adjust each fan every time. hence the whole reason for my post

Does it do an auto-tune for each setting? I am used to using Asus Fan Xpert, I click a button and it does the rest. Is this possible in iCue? I am not familiar with manually tuning fans...

Just installed a Corsair H150i Elite Capellix AIO in my system, along with one other Corsair fan (LL 120 RGB). When using iCue to control the fan speeds, when I click on the "Cooling Presets" it does nothing. I have to go to each individual fan and change the cooling level (quiet, balanced, extreme etc...). Do the presets not auto adjust the fans or am I missing something? On a side note, this is my first non air cooling system and I really like it! Dropped my temps by about 10-12 degrees on my overclocked i7 6700K (when fans are set to extreme).

I really appreciate your help. Let me take a step back. What is the best way to transfer just my documents, pictures, and music onto a new drive that has a fresh OS install? Is it as simple as selecting them all, copy, and paste onto an external drive and then pasting onto new drive?
-
I have heard of that software and actually just looked at it today. I've always been told it's best to do a fresh windows install (not installed from one drive to the next). Is this not the case anymore?

Thank you, that article helped! I was able to pin the folders and they show up in Quick Access. One thing I forgot to mention in my OP is that none of the desktop items show up on the desktop.(?) I backed up my data to an external drive with no OS installed on it. Is this what is considered a bare metal drive?

This is probably a super basic question but I cannot seem to figure it out... Upgraded to a Samsung 980 pro m.2 drive. Old drive is a Samsung 850 evo...Currently running windows 10 but did the back up of the old drive through the window's 7 backup. Told it to backup all files to my external drive. After clean install of Windows 10 on new drive, when I restored the files to the new drive via windows 7 tool, it transferred all of the files okay but they do not show up in the Quick Access portion of file explorer. I have to manually go to Local Disk (C:)>users>user name>and then click on documents, pictures, etc...and they show up there. Why don't the files show up in the Quick access? Happy to provide more information if it's needed....

This should get you fixed up. I started it at the timestamp where he does not see a drive in Windows that IS showing up in the BIOS and how to fix it. EDIT: This probably won't help you now that I read your question more closely. Sorry

I am upgrading my current SSD (Samsung 850 Evo 500GB) to a 1TB Samsung M.2 970 EVO Plus NVMe. I am running windows 10 Home. My question is regarding a good backup program to transfer all of my files to the new drive? Is there a program built into Windows 10 to accomplish this or should I use a 3rd party program? If a 3rd party program is best, which should I use? Thank you in advance. If you need more info. please feel free to ask.

For some reason did not see these latest comments until now. Thank you. Will give it a try

I'll give it a try. Previously I was just following AMDs advice.

I am all ears. What is the normal way?
