Hayabusa1989 reacted to rippy4500 in Aida64 and HWiNFO64 start on startup
Look through the task scheduler and see if something in there is making it start up.

Yeah please do, Hoping it works out for you. Sorry for the relatively lame answer, it's just from experience with older switches I've had in previous roles.

Yeah totally get that 👍
But it would definitely help eliminate that if you plugged say a laptop into your PC directly and tested to see if at least the ports on both flash.

That's fine, don't worry 😉 at least your responses were VERY QUICK. Appreciate that!

Sure, I will check it today. I will also browse to buy a new switch, it's not a money issue if it's worth doing.
I will also invite my friend to look at the switch, cables, etc. We will check everything with the tester to check if is there's anything damaged or broken.
Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction (I really hope so, xD) and I will keep you updated on Friday (possibly)
And if needed, he will come to my home to test everything here directly. That should be on Sunday.

as mentioned previously by @Leventyou should try connecting another device directly to your machine, I honestly am leaning towards the switch just due to it's age. 10/100's are from the 90's or early 2000s generally.

You'd be surprised I've seen really old switches do some weird shit like "i'll only accept devices that have previously be plugged in because I am dying"
Had that on a dell 48 port managed switch a few years ago.

my bad missed that part in the word salad.

while true, they have used 2 motherboards thus far.

I'm not saying it's just the switches fault but that switch is ancient. 10/100 is really really old.
First things first get a new switch.
Secondly have you tried different Ethernet cables ?

Hayabusa1989 reacted to Synedisis in My New Build
I recently built a hardline rig for my 3900X, it runs HOT as to be expected. It’s a little more tamed after the updates to bios and not thermal throttling out of the box. But from my personal experience if anything I’d consider watercooling the cpu instead/with the gpu.
Now we need to break down your budget.
Assuming you’re willing to buy a 2080ti used, which you should be, there’s a Zotac Amp Extreme for like 1000$ last I checked. Then you’re buying a 500$ processor.
1000$ left for mobo, ram, decent case, a small nvme ssd, and watercooling supplies.
A good X470 mobo would be roughly 200$ or cheaper.
32 gigs of (3600 recommended so we’ll go with that) ram is roughly 160$ more or less depending on the kit and where you buy.
You’ll have to figure out what case you want with that many drive slots/mounting points but we’ll go with 150$.
A 950 EVO on Amazon is about 200$, don’t do much research on them so I don’t know what’s a good buy but we’ll go with that.
So you got around 300$ for watercooling stuff. Which isn’t a ton for watercooling gear but you might be able to get the job done for the cpu.

Are you sure that you want to bother to get it fixed??
How about starting your own awards?
I’m sure you can find someone who will encase your broken iMac in Perspex and it would make a fitting award for the worst customer service.
Perhaps the Oscars could be upstaged by the ‘Techies’?

Hayabusa1989 reacted to Drak3 in Rumor: Next gen AMD Epyc to get 64 cores?
Windows can distinguish threads and cores. It's 256 cores, regardless of multithreading shenanigans.

Hayabusa1989 reacted to leadeater in Rumor: Next gen AMD Epyc to get 64 cores?
The CPU core limits apply to Windows 10 as Windows 8, however different editions of Windows 10 have different limits. Windows 10 Professional supports the maximum limit of 256 cores.

Sounds like a much easier plan to me with the added bonus of being lower risk of breaking the original.

I'd personally avoid this headache. Create a new user mailbox, migrate all e-mail and add the former address as aliases so the mail flow redirects to the new mailbox.
Others might have some different insight to share, though.

Hayabusa1989 reacted to sazrocks in Rumour: Apple dropping Qualcomm as modem chip supplier
Sure, but power consumption is a thing. x86 chips (with some exceptions, but you're talking about coffee lake) consume way more power than ARM chips, and thus output more heat. Would you really trade being able to run x86 programs on your phone for a 30 Min Battery life?

I thought Qualcomm is fabless.
