ki8aras reacted to OhYou_ in Possible video: How to use your monitor if you sit infront of it 16/24 ?
none of that matters at all, what matters for eyes is using them.
if you sit in the same position the same distance all day 17 hours a day at your desk and then sleep, your eyes are doing nothing.
they set your focus and then just nothing at all, no change.

the best case is to take tons of tiny 2-3 second breaks throughout your day and just look away from the screen, look out a window, look at distant objects, look at something bright, actually use your eye muscles.
Otherwise they just atrophy and suddenly you struggle to see anything.
Like if you are ever on a road trip or a plane or something and at the end of it you notice that your eyes hurt? That is because you never look at far away objects for long periods of time, your eye muscles are being stressed by something they don't do much. this is a very good sign you need to exercise your vision more.

That really sucks to hear it's defective: especially that avatar cooler which looks sick imo.

ki8aras reacted to nathanbasset in Framework not allowing existing customers to purchase Translucent Bezel?
I'm not trying to make this sounds like a big deal, but I am still seriously peeved.
The Translucent bezel was one of the selling points for me to get Laptop 13, but it was out of stock when I needed to order mine for university.

The bezel option is now back, sporting a few advertisements of their "limited run" on youtube and instagram.
These videos do not mention that you can only purchase the bezel option when buying a brand new laptop 13.

Framework Marketplace has no listing for the bezel, which saddens me deeply.

ki8aras reacted to will0hlep in PC build for my dad - Advice?
I'm not sure AM5's upgradability is an advantage here. If his last PC lasted 8 years, then I'd guess that by the time a 5600 or 7600 equipped PC stops being enough (maybe 2030-2032 (does depend on use case)) AM5 might be dead and buried.

AMD's promise was only to support AM5 until atleast 2025 and therefore there is every chance we will only see one more generation of CPUs on the AM5 platform before they turn round and launch ***AM6*** in 2026/7. By 2030 they could even have launched ***AM7***. If that is the case, upgrading an AM5 system in 2030 will make very little sense.

    Summary
Sources within rockstar of Kotaku are saying that the game's production is falling behind while early 2025 is still the current goal it's likely that it'll probably get delayed to late 2025 or could even reach 2026

    My thoughts
I think they should take their time, I recently played GTA 3 and then GTA 5 back to back and the difference in release date between those 2 games are almost same as gta 5 and 6, making an actual working game is big deal for studios now but it's better if they actually take their time to do so rather than rushing it out, it's not exaggerating to say messing this up will forever kill Rockstar's legacy, and whatever they make must change videogames forever again like GTA 3 did when it came and like GTA 5 did when it came out

obviously the 3080 will be faster, however for the amount you will pay, you may find the 10gb of memory limiting (depending on your use case)

Didn't notice the power consumption difference. 50W+ on load is quite a lot. It seems like as long as you avoid heavily RT games, 7900 xt is cheaper and better in most cases.
Is there any place other than Newegg that has better pricing?

Definitely back it up and get a warranty replacement if you still can. The drive is not at a critical failure point now, but it won't get any better - never take chances with failing storage.

    Hey All,
I'm pretty sure I caught the side-back pocket on my sweats on a chair and separated the 'rubberish' material that outlines and seals this pocket. It's the same as what's on the sweat jackets. I'm looking to reglue this as they're just fine other than that. Can anyone advise on what type of glue I should use? I could make some guesses but if someone is actually knowledgeable about this I'd prefer that input. Edit: I meant to include that if anyone knows the name of this type of material that would be helpful as I can do my own research from there as well.

Intel ARC's take a bit of tuning and sometimes some advanced setup to unlock their full potential, so I would definitely advise an Nvidia or AMD card for a first-timer
