ki8aras reacted to elcapitanpdx in Need to re-glue my Short Circuit Sweats pocket.
Hey All,
I'm pretty sure I caught the side-back pocket on my sweats on a chair and separated the 'rubberish' material that outlines and seals this pocket. It's the same as what's on the sweat jackets. I'm looking to reglue this as they're just fine other than that. Can anyone advise on what type of glue I should use? I could make some guesses but if someone is actually knowledgeable about this I'd prefer that input. Edit: I meant to include that if anyone knows the name of this type of material that would be helpful as I can do my own research from there as well.

depending on the refresh rate you're targeting, but i'd say 100-120 euro is a reasonable price for it

ki8aras reacted to Blasty Blosty in RTX 2060 Super VS Arc A750. Which one should I pair with R5 5600 as a first time PC user?
Intel ARC's take a bit of tuning and sometimes some advanced setup to unlock their full potential, so I would definitely advise an Nvidia or AMD card for a first-timer

only real benefit of the first one is more storage and GPU has 16gb of vram instead of 12. But I'd also look at this one if you need 16 HIDevolution ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402XY 14" WQXGA 165Hz, 4.0 GHz Ryzen 9 7940HS, RTX 4090, 64 GB DDR5 RAM, 2 TB PCIe SSD, Windows 11 Pro - Newegg.com

ki8aras got a reaction from Jay-T in Budget gaming laptop or Handheld PC
another popular option is the steam deck oled ,granted with less performance than the ally, but also cheaper and with better support for accessories and software (not to mention the screen which is miles ahead)
be careful though! once you go oled, going back isn't easy

The charts are hard to read, maybe something like this would be better:
idk, it's confusing because I keep going back and forth from the name to the numbers... you guys should do a poll of which charts are better to read... people would vote and decide for themselves...

your pc can handle it, i don't see how having a wifi 6 router relates to this since you should probably use a wired setup for the headset

ki8aras reacted to ivanrcks95 in A quick and easy 4c drop in temps by removing my cards LED bar.
This was just a fun curiosity experiment, that ended up with great results. For the longest time outlets like Gamers Nexus made comments about certain cards blocking a lot of airflow by having the sides of the cooler blocked off. My particular card has the same "issue", there is a small gap between the cooler and the LED bar that goes across, but it does definitely block a majority of it. I decided to see if it 1 - could be removed and 2 - if it will make a difference. Removing it was very simple, 6 small screws and a plug later it all came off, and the difference it made was not insignificant. I wish I recorded all data I had before, but I did this mostly for shits and giggles not thinking it would actually make a difference, so i dont have actual screenshots of the before results, but without changing anything else, fan profiles all being the same, I saw a 4c drop in temps. With both attempts I ran cyberpunk with RT on for 30min, and the edge and hotspot temp both dropped by 4-6c, going down from 71c and 90c to 67c and 84c respectively, those are the max temps. Average temps were more closer to 4c all round. Surprised how much of a difference its made and how easy it is to do it. I also noticed that XFX stopped putting this LED bar on the 7000 series, so maybe they noticed these results too.
