  1. as i said, usb4 carries a pcie 3.0 x4 signal, so you only have to saturate that to see a performance loss
  2. while the adapter accepts a 4.0 x16 signal from the gpu, it only spits out a 3.0 x4 signal over the usb4 connection, so expect about half the performance you would usually have (performance loss dependent on gpu and resolution, but definitely a significant hit in any case)
  3. hey there! i recently decided to upgrade my pc as my 3070 couldn’t really play games at 4k, so today my 7900 xtx arrived. so i plug it in, ddu the old drivers and install the new ones, and i go run 3d mark. it showed up as not installed so i messed around a bit with the sata ports thinking it was a connection issue( maybe they were nudged when i was putting the card in). after a few restarts i realize i had unplugged the sata power cables from my psu, i plug it in and Voila! the pc never posted again… i’ve tried everything, i’ve reseated everything and currently the system starts up but does not post, and the cpu stays cold to the touch. what do? system: ryzen 7 2700 32gb 3000mhz (4x8) asus b450-f gaming
  4. i got a 4k monitor back when i had a gtx 1070 (so about 5 years ago) since then all my games have looked awesome, with the downside being that you'll always feel your hardware isn't up to par, pushing you do to things like shunt modding just to get a bit more performance can't really say i regret buying it tho
  5. when they can do everything x86 systems can, one of my friends has an m1 macbook air for school and relies on a vm i set up for her schoolwork cuz of software like quartus or orCad
  6. the powersupply won't be visible so why get a white one?
  7. this is way better for your usecase op, although i think even a 3050 is overkill for this
  8. if you've got cheap electricity, fun f@h on it until you find something else to do with it
  9. it may be worth asking on some hp forums for anyone who may have tried it
  10. do you make a compelling point not gonna lie
  11. hey everyone! im looking into buying an rx 7900xtx, as im at the limit of my budget, im looking into the more budget cards option 1: XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon™ RX 7900XTX option 2: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 7900 XTX AMD 24 GB option 3:ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB GDDR6 Phantom Gaming OC option 4:ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB GDDR6 Taichi OC i had a bad experience with an xfx merc card (a 5700 xt) so i'm a bit reluctant to go with it, but they may have improved since then thanks in advance!
