All good suggestions. I'm expecting a reply until the end of the day (17.30 here) so I'll be sure to include those as options, as well as the additional features. WiFi isn't a requirement, that much I know (besides, dongles are cheap anyway) and I'm quite sure the storage config is essentially all SATA based and they're perfectly happy with what they have - again, not an enthusiast client - but I'll keep in mind the M.2 suggestion in case they do decide to upgrade and go that route as well. Fair point, I guess my "they won't be doing a lot of heavy lifting with the computer" wasn't exactly a thorough use-case description. I can only assume some office work with light gaming on the side AT BEST, but very situationally

Hey everyone! I have an i7-9700 (non-K) that I HAVE to use for a client's build. I'm quite aware of the socket/chipset limitations and what works where but I'm not that well versed in what motherboard models and manufacturers are known to be a good value / good user experience on 9th gen. Please note that I am not looking for "X CPU/MOBO combo is better" or "why wouldn't you get a X". As i said, it's not my build and I'm working with what the client told me they wanted. They are not a very tech savvy person, they won't be upgrading in the foresseable future, they don't do a lot of heavy lifting with the computer so I'm just looking for one or two middle-of-the-road, all-around good motherboards for a general consumer on Intel's 9th gen with a nice mix of features and a comfortable price. What has worked for you? Are you or do you know someone who also has a non-K CPU and are happy with the motherboard they got? I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

I did do 2 factory resets to no avail. To flash another ROM would I have to root the device as well? Could you point me in the right direction?

Hello. So last night my parent's tablet froze completely and the only way to shut it down was to hold the power button for a while. It had already been slowly decaying over time but nothing too bad: a little sluggish from time to time and apps would shut down with no warning but it would immediately pick them back up with no big deal. When they went to turn it on again, it was stuck on the Acer boot logo, with the slogan and the "Powered by Android". It'll stay there forever until the battery runs out. I tried hard resetting the thing twice already and the problem persists. Should i try to root and flash a new ROM onto it? If so, any tips/tutorials on how one would go about doing those? (The only other phone I flashed a ROM into was a ZTE Barcelona, and it wasn't even mine). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone! I'm not an enthusiast guy when it comes to phones but a year or so ago my phone got stolen and i've been driving around with an old Nokia E65. I've been using it really as a phone-phone (texts and calls) and getting my app/internet fix with the tablet and computer. However, I've been thinking of getting a new one. My carrier, Vodafone, has a points system which essentially lets you have phones for cheaper, at the exchange of those points (you get these from using their services, yadada). So what this is essentially about is, should i get the Huawei P9 Lite for 171€ or the Vodafone Smart Platinum 7 for 228€? The Vodafone one has a bigger, 1440p display vs the Huawei 1080p IPS one. The Huawei has a snappier CPU but the Vodafone has more internal storage. Battery capacity is the same on both (3000mAh) but the Smart Platinum has QuickCharge 3.0. I do believe the Smart Platinum has no optic image stabilization and i think that would be a nice touch. Anyway, what would be your pick?

Yeah, i did some diggin and i found out that the prices here on the other side of the pond are all over the place. A 4590, 4570, 4430, are more expensive than a 6500 where i live and only the 4460 is less expensive, but by only 20$. From what i've gathered, it seems tech stores want people to get Skylake (motherboards for LGA 1150 and 1151 are roughly the same price and so are DDR3/4 dims. So i really dont see a reason not to go Skylake. But i'm gonna wait until AMD releases more info on Polaris GPUs. Thanks everyone!

I was thinking about getting the noctua one, yeah. And SSDs I'll probably get one too, yes. Sounds like seen that would make it shaky and enjoyable. You don't happen to have experience building in any of the cases i mentioned above, do you? Cause if like to know if they're hassle free (though since they are low profile I wouldn't imagine it to be so)

Any tips on a good haswell replacement for the 6500?

Who and why: I'm a new PC builder who's been following LTT for a couple years now and is in need of a new computer. I've had a couple laptops and a desktop back in 2002 but need a thing to really call my own that can handle college work (going on an engineering path), regular web browsing and the like plus some gaming sessions mixed in between. Limitations: I'd like to build a low profile computer to stand in a shelf about 1 meter (roughly 3 feet) from my desk with a power outlet really close by. Have my eye set on an mATX form factor and would like to work/game in 1080p. Budget should, ideally, be no higher than 800€ (or about 900 US $). Overclocking isn't sth i'm really planning on but if you see a small increase could be done, please point it out. Parts: Case: Silverstone GD04 or GD09 (was also looking at the Fractal Design Node 605 / Node 202 but, even though they're better looking than the Silverstone ones, availability is a bitch where I live); Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M S2H; CPU: Intel i5 6500 3.2 GHz; CPU Cooler: Noctua NH L9i; RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2133MHz DDR4 2x8GB; GPU: ASUS GTX 960 STRIX 4GB / RX 470 (waiting for availabily and release dates for the Polaris architecture later this month so i'm not set on GPU yet); Storage: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + maybe an Adata 120 GB SSD, not sure here; Power Supply: EVGA 500B (500W and 80+ Bronze); OS: Windows 10 (Paul's Hardware posted a video a while back on how Kinguin has legit copies for about 25€); Peripherals: sth cheap at first, giving me time to upgrade in the future. Would love some feedback from you guys since where i live (Portugal), this amounts to roughly 780€ and i'l love to cut back somewhere. If you guys see that it can be done, please say so. Also, any ideas on a 1080p monitor that's worth it and, preferably, costs less than 100€ (roughly 110 US $)? Something that's worth mentioning is that I'm not on a tight schedule and will probably start gathering parts late August / early September. Thanks in advance for your help.
