  1. I got my current laptop about a year and a half ago and haven't been able to solve my current problem which is I have a AMD Radeon R9 M200x Series. While in the settings of Radeon settings it says enabled the only game that picks it up and uses it is Civilization 6. I've updated it to the current version before and games still don't pick it up. If anybody knows a fix that works or what the best course of action is let me know. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hello readers I need help deciding what laptop I should get. Sometime in July I plan on buying a Desktop to have in order to accommodate for my games and programs that take a lot of data and processing power to run. However, I still require a laptop like I currently have for school, competitions, and while away from my home. Since I'm spending around $700+ on the desktop the laptop will have to be below that price range and be able to be ordered off of amazon which is my last place of choice, or be found in stores like Best Buy or Micro Center. My goal with this laptop is to have a computer that is light and versatile. Preferably on the small side of the spectrum. I would like to be able to take notes and stuff on it and be able to use programs such as Solidworks and Photoshop without worrying about the program completely crashing all the time or the computer heating up to a unbearable temperature. I have a mouse already so I won't need one but will need to have a few USB spots. Thanks in advance for reading and if there is any clarifying questions I can answer let me know.
  3. That makes sense. However would it just make more sense to wait till May for a desktop since the memory on my hard-drive is almost full at 2 Tb and its more per gigabyte for SSD?
  4. Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2501 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) With 16gb ram on the laptop 2 tb hdd
  5. I would except I plan to build a desktop after May and I'm looking for a quick solution. But thanks for the advice.
  6. When I originally got my laptop I was surprised to notice that the games I played on it where running surprisingly well for a laptop however, the stats on this laptop are above some of my friends yet runs programs like Visual Studio, Solidworks, and Photoshop really slow and I experience crashes in Solidworks doing the simplest of things. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing and what I can do to fix this. I've tried solutions such as turning off startup programs not needed and cleaning my disk and have not have had as large of a impact. Let me know whats worked and how to fix it. Thanks ahead of time.
  7. I would be comfortable with overclocking and would like a more game oriented monitor. No specific size requirements for aesthetics I would like it to be more on the matching side for colors and not to crazy.
  8. Need help deciding what to put into my first Gaming rig. I'm willing to spend as little as $400 to a maximum of $1400 (United States) and can go above the set maximum if it means extra performance boost or better resolution or FPS in games. I will mainly be using it to play a variety games (New and Old) and would like to be able to play games at medium to high/very high settings. Along with that I would be using it for some Solidworks projects, Blender projects, Photoshop, and Unity or Unreal Engine. I plan on only using one monitor which I would need to buy (suggestions needed) and possibly upgrading unless I get a large monitor. I will need to purchase peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard and will also need to buy Windows of some kind. Currently I use a Laptop but would like to upgrade to something more powerful that is also reliable and that can last me longer while also not having a loss in performance. Thanks for the help.
  9. I'm looking to build a desktop computer for gaming that can keep up with the upcoming game releases. I have a budget of between $500-600 (US) and need help planning on where to put the majority of the budget without loosing performance in the other parts. If possible I would like to be able to overclock and upgrade when necessary without having to buy a whole new rig. I plan on running programs like Unity engine and playing games on both sides of the performance spectrum. If possible I would like to be able to hook up to a 4k monitor and would only be connected to one at a time. I want to upgrade at this time so I have the ability to do upgrades in the future as my laptop has very little upgrades to it. I will need to buy the operating system and keyboard mouse. I would like to be able to connect to the wifi via wireless connection. Thanks for the help.
  10. Okay thanks, do you know then if its possible to turn a computer on the slightly older side into a gaming computer by a graphics card and adding either a new core or ram?
  11. My currently laptop doesn't have the power to run some of the games that it used to be able to do even with Radeon Graphics and Intel i7 quad core. So I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to upgrade it with parts that are plugged in to the laptop and are outside of it.
