I'm probably not the only one whos head doesn't hurt by this

is there any reason you can't just connect your phone to the head unit with bluetooth? Or just use Waze on your phone so you don't require a separate device?

if they were installed using UEFI you should be able to bypass grub by selecting "Windows Boot Manager" in the boot options in your bios.

From my experience the BIOS Boot menu will show you boot options for both the Ubuntu and Windows partitions. If you delete the Ubuntu partition Windows should still appear as a bootable partition in the BIOS. You can select it and boot to it directly from there.

I usually just spin up a VM with OpenVPN access server.  It’s a pretty easy ‘out of the box’ solution if you don’t want to sink a lot of time into it.

yes as he mentions you are changing the native vlan on the port.
your native vlan traffic gets tagged as VLAN 10 on your routers trunk port.

as mentioned i suggest using a separate interface for management and data.

Bruno_A reacted to beersykins in Lost access to Switch after configuring VLANS
You can do it that way, sure.  You're just telling the router and switch on that shared interface that 'packets without a VLAN ID header, place into VLAN 10, whereas the other VLAN traffic will just have 11 in its header for that segment.

The common term for that is 'native VLAN' on a trunk, where you specify the VLAN for untagged traffic but otherwise tag all other traffic in a trunk.

You should use the tagged ports for data only. .

Have port 1 (untagged) for management
Have port 2 tagged to vlan 10
Have port 3 tagged to vlan 11

Or keep port 2 for vlan 10 and 11
You will not be able to access management on port 2 (or 3 if configured above)

Heres an article for netscalers keep in mind netgear may have something more relevant

That's kind of semantics though, as long as your untag/tag scheme lines up then it's all the same.

Sometimes devices have a default ACL that only accepts traffic from a certain subnet or inter-vlan routing isn't enabled by default.  You'd also need DHCP scopes in each of the VLANs on the router for each individual subnet.  Otherwise it should be pretty straightforward as OP has described.

Are you able to get out of each VLAN to the internet and to each subnet's gateway address on the Router?  You'd need a .1 address or similar as a gateway on each VLAN, commonly known as a SVI that clients on those segments would use as a default gateway.

yes you can, just go to your server settings on plex an under network there is a section you can add ip addresses that are allowed to access your server without an account. Here is a better explanation with some screenshots https://www.howtogeek.com/303282/how-to-use-plex-media-server-without-internet-access/

I was actually able to get my Server working as intended. I've got ports 80, 443 and 25 forwarded to the Exchange server in my router, so, I can access the OWA and receive emails, and used Amazon SES as a Smart Host to relay my outgoing emails. I am able to send emails to the internet, as long as the email is a verified email in the SES console. This is a limitation for new accounnts, I believe, that I already requested to lift.

Regarding the Office 365, that is an interesting setup. I do have an email domain in Office 365 For Business that I use for my emails and One Drive. How would that work? Would the Office 365 work as an SMTP relay that receives outgoing emails from my Exchange Server and send them to the destination, and the other way around? Receives from the sender and sends to my Exchange server?

Bruno_A reacted to leadeater in Exhange Server 2016
All of the above, you can configure it to send and receive however you wish of any combination. Office 365/Exchange Online works more like an actual Exchange server in your Exchange Server environment  or it's more than just a SMTP relay but that is the big thing most people need. It's better to relay inbound and outbound email through Office 365 as it gets spam filtered and all the important reverse lookups and DNS security IDs are done for you so you are way less likely to get blacklisted. I think you're getting all that now with Amazon SES anyway though.

Bruno_A reacted to Alex Atkin UK in NAT Loopback Issue
Actually you got that reversed, NAT loopback is actually the "hacky" way as its extremely CPU intensive on the router, having a DNS entry that directs the traffic to the correct internal IP is the proper way.

In a domain, it is pretty easy to manage a Hyper-V server. I add it to the Hyper-V manager, and that's it. However, when the two machines are in a workgroup, how do I do this? I just installed Hyper-V server 2019 on a server I own, and on my desktop machine, running Windows 10, I cannot add the Hyper-V server to the Server Manager, or to Hyper-V manager. When adding it to Server Manager, I get a "WinRM Negotiate authentication error" error, and when I add it to Hyper-V Manager, I get the error below:
I am guessing that there are some extra steps for managing servers in workgroups? I've never done this before, if anyone knows about this, please let me know.

Super excited to finally play the full version of Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun. The demo on GOG was super long and left me wanting more for the longest time. I'm hearing great things about tomorrows game as well. It seems to be one of the top story rich puzzle games on Steam.

Yes, I did that. Release, renew, a flushdns and then checked using /all. Only a restart would do the trick.

If your sending emails to external isn't working then thats your Send Connector. By default it uses port 25 so if your ISP is blocking that such as on a consumer connection, then that very well might be your problem.

Most ISP's do offer an SMTP relay service, so you could check with them. If they do offer it then you can change the Send Connector from MX record to Smart Host and specify the SMTP relay details they give you. Your ISP might also have the option of unblocking the port. You can also go down the route of changing it via powershell to port 465 or 587 with TLS.

If you want to do TLS, These should help you, particularly Certificate Procedures.
Its been a long time since I setup a new Exchange server environment (not since Exchange 2003) so can't really help much on the creation of the certificates.
You can just do self signed certificates for SMTP, but you'd need an external e.g LetsEncrypt for the domain for OWA/ECP eg https://mail.mydomain.com

Maybe someone whos setup/configured an Exchange 2013/2016 can chime in to help with this

Secondary DNS server is for when the primary doesn't respond, it won't move to the next if it gets a valid response from the DNS server saying no record found as that is a valid reply from a DNS server.

Did you just do ipconfig /renew or ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew? If you don't release Windows will hold on to DHCP settings it's already gotten and additionally in the DHCP request it'll actually ask for the same IP from the DHCP server. A flush 'should' work but I've come across dumb issues like this that only a reboot fixes.
