  1. Do you think even 90°C won't hurt the chip? Even over 80° regularly sometimes for extended periods? If that's true, that's of course good for me. According to my friend, I would need to take the whole motherboard out to replace the cooler, you seem to know something about computers, so can according to the attached pictures determine whether that's correct or it's possible even without taking it out (which would be likely quite painful and I have no idea if I could assemble it again). Do you think replacing just the fan could help too? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean the connector that's on the attached photo? And by fan controller do you mean something like this https://www.amazon.com/Kingwin-Performance-Controller-Temperature-Overheat/dp/B074BQ4K77/ ? If yes, does that go inside the case or can it also be outside?
  3. I am regularly over 80 and sometimes even over 90 which isn't very good according to what I read. I'm also thinking this might be the reason for the CPU not going to the Turbo Boost frequency.
  4. Hello! I'm having some CPU overheating issues on my pre-built PC (seems a bit unfortunate cooling design from HP that's not really enough for my CPU). I don't have much knowledge in this area, so would like to get some more info and ideas Let's start with some the specs of this HP OMEN 870-176nc: CPU: Intel i7-6700K GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080/8GB GDDR5X RAM: 32 GB DDR4 As I mentioned, the issue is my CPU temperature, GPU one seems to be fine. It reaches high temperatures and although it doesn't seem to thermal-throttle, I am worried about it a bit. I'm guessing this might also be the reason why my CPU never goes to its Turbo Boost frequency. I would love to see how the fan is managing its RPM when doing something, but unfortunately, I don't seem to have a way to see it outside of BIOS. No piece of software seems to be able to read this. Do you have any idea why this could be as it's showing in BIOS without a problem? Is there any way to see it while inside Windows? The second issue is, that just as I can't see the CPU fan's RPM, I can't control it either. I tried SpeedFan, but nothing shows where the fans are supposed to be. I tried going to BIOS, but where other people have the option, I don't. I'm attaching screenshots of some programs and the BIOS. As I can't see the RPM, I'm judging just by the sound it makes (which isn't that quiet under full load) and I still hear it not running on full RPM even when the CPU is over 80 and sometimes even over 90°C. Could have HP somehow locked the option to control/view the fan's RPM? I don't have much knowledge about this. BTW. It's the same with the case fan, shows RPM in BIOS and doesn't anywhere else, can't control it either. The only fan which's RPM I can see inside WIndows is the GPU one. I'm also thinking about maybe changing the CPU fan/cooler, but that's probably a discussion for another topic. I've also taken some photos while I had the case open, so if you think that could help, I will upload them. Thanks for reading. Regards, Roman
  5. I ended up buying the Corsair MM300 Medium, it's the right size for me, the surface is very soft and easy to move mouse on and the design is excellent. I am very satisfied so far and would definitely recommend it. I would only say, that for some people it may be too easy to move mouse on.
  6. I don't think the Steelseries Qck mouse pads are the right size for me. The 40x30 cm on Asus Strix mouse pads seem right for me, may go for one of them at the end or the Roccat Taito. Thanks for all of your replies and I am still looking for other suggestions/opinions.
  7. Thanks for a reply! Many people seem to have that mouse pad and are satisfied.
  8. Okay, I just saw a review of that shock mount saying it works fine on the Neewer stand. But there seems to be some deflection in some Blue Yetis having a bit bigger hole(and equipment doesn't fit), so I am a bit concerned about that, probably gonna try to measure it.
  9. @Rangaman42 Thanks for feedback!
  10. I just found this shock mount for Blue Yeti https://www.amazon.com/Auphonix-Shock-Mount-Blue-Microphone/dp/B01FQB3DD8 It's way cheaper than most others for Blue Yeti and the reviews seem good. It's even cheaper (15€) on German Amazon, which is good for me as I live in Europe. Do you think I should buy it? Would it fit on the Neewer stand?
  11. @GreenToxon Thanks for replying. I will probably get something cheaper, because 50€ seems like too much to spend on a mouse pad to me, but I may get the Corsair MM300, because I get a huge pad there. Otherwise still thinking about the Asus STRIX pads, Steelseries Qck and Roccat Taito.
  12. @GreenToxon Wow, that's expensive! Do you think it's really worth 50€?
  13. The Corsair MM300 looks amazing indeed and I am getting more convinced to buy it, but the cheapest you can get it where I live (Slovakia) is 35€. I would get it from amazon.com for 15$, but they don't seem to ship to Slovakia German Amazon ships to Slovakia alright, but it's 35€ there too.
