    That is strange. A 980 ti would be much better, but a 980 is a good Card still. What games is he playing? He tryied to tweak the settings or Just put EVERYTHING on ultra?

    I have an evga SC (factory oc,no extra Power conector) and i manaed to get +30 core clock and +300 memory clock on afterburner.

    I have a mouse with conigurable hkeys,so i put 3 controls on my mouse and use the rest ob the kboard. Its pretty good for me

    See on BIOS if the rail is close to 12v - like 11.95v,or 12.08v. if it is 11.50v for example,something is not right.

    I had this problem and it was the PSU fault (crappy PSU). Just to be sure,check on bios if the 12v rail is stable.

    Going from an i7 3770 to an i5 6500 is a downgrade, and going to an i7 6700 is not worth it.

    Well, i dont know if you are Just trying to be anoying or didnt understand what i said, but i wont waste more time with you. Bottom line for OP: Bottleneck in 1440p is lower than in 1080p, but that does NOT mean that you will get higher fps on 1440p (you WONT).

    We are not talking about FPS,but about bottlenecking. If we were talking about fps, the OP had to say what is his "ideal fps". Because u can have a massive bottleneck and still have good fps, for example, if you pair an titan x with an fx 6300 and Go play Dota on 1080p. It Will bottleneck? Hell yeah. The game will be playable with good fps? Hell yeah. 0 Bottleneck is about getting 100% of what you are paying: the gpu will get to its max. But you can have good experiences even with bottlenecks.

    Thank you for proving you are wrong. Ofc you dont gain frames,but you lose less frames. Bneck is %, so the higher the res, the lesser the bneck

    Wrong. Well, actually not wrong,but HORRIBLE example. If he gets 60 fps at 1080p, but the gpu is being 50% bnecked, it means he is geting a huge bneck. But if he gets 60 fps at 1440p,the bneck wont be 50%, it will be 10%, so... minor bneck.

    Well, the higher the resolution,the LESSER the bottleneck caused by the processor. so i THINK you will be fine, but better check benchmarks

    cpu and gpu performance jump per generation are very different, and EVEN with gpu it is hardly worth it upgrading the same tier in only 1 gen (example: upgrading from a 750 to a 950 is not a very good choice). when talking about cpus, the gap is even bigger (i still have an i7 2600k and the i7 6700k doesnt seen like THAT good of an upgrade)

    Hello. What is your resolution? because if you are playing 1080p, even the i5 6600k can bottleneck and 1070 (very minor bneck,but still).

    Never knew diferent oc softwares brought diferent results. But yeah, oc via software is worth it. Ou wont break anything and its extra performance.

    The rx 470 is VERY similar to the rx 480, at least when comparing custom 4gb 470 with reference 4gb 480. Yes, it will outperform a 960.

    I think you fucked up. You can either keep the gpu and upgrade the rest of the pc later, or get a new pc right noew with the credit,but it seems you will get a horrible price for this second option.

    Fo4 is a very good value, and you can play at LEAST 80h. MMOs can be very good, but in general only when played with gamer friends. Só i wouldnt recommend Elder scrolls.

    Make a curve an edit it until it fits your needs. You can have the fan speed at 50%, and when it gets near to termal throttle, you get it to 60% (Just a sugestion).

    I agree when talkin about inovation, because if the limits are not pushed farther, we get stuck in one place. But I PERSONALLY dont see the need for giant SSDs in personal computers, you can have an ssd + hdd (mass storage) and the difference will be ZERO (well,you have to manage two drives, but anyway). Thats Just me tough, i will not say ppl what to do, People here like to get 4 titan x to play Dota on 1080p, i will cringe but the money is not mine...

    In my experience,hell yes. I got an 240gb ssd,installed the OS and a few games (fo4,witcher 3), and man it was worth it. Now i play witcher in the highest possible dificulty, and saying means waiting 10 seconds,not 1 minute. For heavy and immersive games,it is very good. For some applications too, tough in my case i dont use anything that benefits much from ssd in this topic. Oh,and the OS boots lightning fast, its great for overclock (a crash does not mean 3-5 minutes,but mere 20 seconds) And for notebooks, boot times are a big deal since you turn them off all the time, unlike desktops. I Just think big SSDs are oerkill in most cases, i REALLY dont understand why someone would want 960 gigabytes of ssd storage, since files like music,movies and games (that you are not currently playing) wont benefits much from the speed. But ppl in this fórum are storage freaks, i watche LOTS of móvies and séries and never used more than 700GB in my whole system

    For the games you play, even a major bottleneck would not be a problem, because honestly you dont need a lot of horaepower. Your GPU is enough,but if you want to upgrade, there will be improvement ofc.

    You dont like amd? There is a reason? Because you DONT chose a gpu like that,you need to take price,performance,energy consumption... The new rx séries are good in all that. Só if you dont want to buy amd Just because it is amd, you are not a smart person.

    Well, the amp extreme is one of the better 1080, and all are linda similar really. So Just stick with it, i really think it would be dumb to change this beast for an evga SC (and i do love evga)

    The router is inside her bedroom? Or she thinks a router in any part of the house can affect her sleep? This is pretty shitty,really, you gave a lot o good sugestions and she dismisses all of them for dumb reasons. I think she just does not wabt you to use internet and give bs excuses. But man,you NEED it for school,she is not logical.
