For someone with 12,000 posts I would hope you'd know better than that. A lower resolution takes the pressure off of the GPU and places it on the CPU.

Some possibilities I might consider. Hassale from low to high:
    1. There is an error in your BIOS somehow. Flash the latest BIOS. This would also deal with potential problems caused by OC.
    2. PCI-E slot is somehow bad. Try another PCI-E slot.
    3. There are some bad blocks on your SSD/ memory where your graphics driver happened to reside on. When the system trys to read from it it freaks out.
      - Reseating, or replacing your memory sticks
      - trying another SSD or load a Windows to go image or a linux distribution on a flash drive and try to run some games on it.
    4. The power supply might only be marginally capable of handling your system or it's dead. Try another power supply.
    5. Your power line is not very stable. Plug it in somewhere else and try again.

Silence should be more valued than low temperatures. I don't care if my R9 280 runs at 85C or 25C. What I do care about is how loud it is.

That's not how that list works. The tier list is edited to represent the quality of a unit in comparison to others. The G3 doesn't have problems because they moved it down the list, they moved it down the list to represent the problems it has.

The G3 is a fine unit, but how you describe the Tier list is plain wrong

Moress got a reaction from ZcanKal in Good prebuilt PC or not?
No. You can build a moderately better PC, including a 6 core 8700, 1060 gb (better than the 3gb version in that) and a powersupply that isn't a fire risk (Unnamed 300w PSU, which is lower than even Nvidia's minimum spec). For under $1300, including a full copy of Windows 10.

There is no reason to upgrade from a 6700 to 7700k unless you have a Z270 board and will overclock, and even then with the 8000 series out its not really worth while.

    Don't buy a 7700k. Get a Z370 + 8600k instead

A good 550 will be fine for that system. I personally suggest ~600-650 in case you want to upgrade to a more power hungry system down the line, since good PSUs can last through multiple rigs/upgrades
