dario2308 got a reaction from OfficialDCRaw in Little Haswell Beast
Decided to go with this part list. I will be upgrading a little later on, or maybe pass on this mini rig to my sister. Sorry for the awful cable management.
Did all I could for now. Enjoy the pictures.

With this build, you can OC the pentium pretty well and it sets you up for future haswell refresh CPU or broadwell upgrade if you want to. It's just a little bit over budget. Hm, I'll see how I can reduce the price some more, might have to drop to a lower GPU though. Or you can settle with 4 gb of ram for now.

Nice build, I remember building my first PC and the overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Even on my second build I was kinda proud of myself. Enjoy your new PC

There are many tutorials with that motherboard on YouTube. I would stick with Mavericks. Yosemite is having trouble with hackintosh systems right now.

Hey Guys!
Just got my Surface Pro 3 and I'm looking at dual booting another copy of windows from a Micro-SD card.. I was wondering if it was possible to do it? I looked around and some people say you can't... But they were articles from 2009 :') So who knows..
Thanks in advance!

dario2308 reacted to Kyuubixchidori in Can I turn my PC into a hackintosh?
first off, for all of you anti apple people out there, this is so I can sell my pc for over hardware cost to someone who needs a mac for content creation, and rebuild my unbalanced build to a true gaming PC.
now that we got that out of the way, hi everyone. so My PC has served me well with windows 8.1, but i need to try and turn it into a hackintosh to sell it. so Im wondering if I can do it with my specs, because i thought it only really worked with reference GPUS but I Dont know much so.
specs:
I5-3570K cooled with a hyper 212
gigbyte z77-ds3h
asus DCU II 7950
8 gigs of corsair ram
1 tb wd green drive (would be replaced with samsung SSD)
the only things that would effect this would be the MOBO and GPU right?
and would i still be able to overclock the components?
thanks for any help!

This because of the price difference http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42972kr

dario2308 reacted to airdeano in Problem with Corsair H80i fitting gigabyte h77ni-wifi board
the red boxes represent the hose obstructions to look for if the block is not sitting flat on the CPU.
if so, you need to send the H80i back (no work around to solve the issue) and get one of the
Asetek brands with the round CPU pump/controller. the clocking allows better hose positioning.

I've been saving up for quite some time and I'm hoping that I'll be able to snag a Asus IMPACT and an i5 haswell processor to go along with it. Or a 770. Or some ram and spend the rest on cookies.

dario2308 reacted to TechFan@ic in Looking for a good gaming graphics card. Price Range $200-$300
If you want a tiny graphics card that packs a significant performance punch look into the Asus R9 270X, it only costs $210, although the card has a very compact cooler, this cooler has class leading cooling capacity & extremely quiet noise levels.
If the case can handle a larger graphics card your best bet is an Asus DCII R9 280X.

Like the guys above said, 7970 or 280X are the best options.
