Well I am software and net engineer in PE. There are a lot of mighty servers in firm I work for and I wanted something like this. I'll do benchmarks and YT when I finish my build.

Huh last year (more than a year ago) I bought 8x8GB for 89€ and I thought to buy rest kits of memory later. It is so expensive now.
Great build I like it!

srmarkovic reacted to r3loAded in New build - Black Box
Hi everyone.
So, my friend decided he needs to go overkill for his Flight Simulator. We had build previously a PC with 7700k, 32gb ram, GTX 1080 in a Thermaltake P3 case. He sold that PC as he said he needs more cores for the sim. So off he went and bought an i9-7900x and as it wasn't enough he also bought an ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB ROG POSEIDON Watercooled and some 32gb of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz of course alongside with a decent motherboard, Asus ROG OC X299 Rampage VI Apex. Everything will be housed in the Thermaltake The Tower 900.
It will be a watercooled build, black and white with some orange accents. This would be my first one so expensive and also my first watercooled one.
No hard tubing but soft one with 90 and 45 degree elbows in order to look neat.
Hopefully we will start this weekend but we'll see. Will post pictures with future components soon.
And some pictures (or else it didn't happened - don't mind my nerdy face):

Just sharing my build.
Case: Corsair C70 modded clear side panel
Motherboard: Asus Pro Gamer Z97
CPU: i7 4790k@4.6ghz cooled by a NZXT X61
Ram: 32gb Corsair Vengeance at the time it was 50% off couldn’t help but buy two 16gb kits
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3
SSD: Kingston 250gb/ 4tbs of HDDs
PSU: EVGA G2 750 watt
Future upgrades I might do is get a bigger SSD or custom watercooling loop but for now I’m more then happy with it.

I understand it's not a criticism. But my situation is not that different. I suppose houses and gold are a good investment but...I dunno. Saving for future generations? Seems like cheating to me. ;-)

srmarkovic reacted to Dask933 in Finished my build, finally.
Posted a couple of months back, still didn't have the 1080 and the cables. Now it's done, everything came in, cable management redone.
Planning to change monitor till next month (going for Acer Predator XB271HU).

What do you think? What colour scheme should I go with the leds on PC/Desk? I like purple/violet and white more than red.
All comments and opinions are welcome, if I could change something to Improve it.
Also have a headset but don't have a hanger underneath the desk yet so I unplugged it.

The Blue Sleeving color is a bit off in the picture. It's a darker Blue. Also got my lighting in today. I haven't decided if I'll use CCFL or LED yet.

My very first PC build, I got Motherboard aND Ram as a gift from my friend who decided ton go for DDR4 in last second,
Specs: i5 4690k , GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB 2400hz Ram,MSI Z97 GAMING 5, 650 GS 80+ EVGA PSU,1TB WD Blue 7200RPM, 2x Corsair 120mm Fans, Evo Cpu cooler (Planning to get H100i as soon as I'll have some extra cash)
Case is NZXT S340 which I also got as a gift, but planning to get NZXT H440 in near future to match my color scheme
This is my first ever pc build, I was scared not to mess up anything but thanks God everything is working and hardest part was finding right place for each cable on motherboard. I am still waiting for GPU brace to level it horizontally and some cable holders to perfectly align my GPU and Mobo cables

srmarkovic got a reaction from malon in Dual Xeons - worth or not?
Well Adobe does't use more than 10 cores so I found on net that someone run two instances of Adobe and select cores for each one to get real power of multiple cores. It is probably possible to render with 8 cores and record game with other 8 or render with more and record game with rest. There are 16 cores and 32 ht with 3.3GHz clock, plenty of ram, 84 PCI lanes and 4 ethernet ports so it is even possible to make 2,3,4 machines with unraid. Linus made it with one PC
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKJw8IKVYQ8
so it will be possible to do similar (but not so powerful, he probably had result about 28,000 ) with two e5-2670 CPUs which in my test had
CPU Mark 19,468

srmarkovic got a reaction from suchamoneypit in Dual Xeons - worth or not?
Processors clocks are lower than 4.5GHz of my i7 (which has only 750 in Cinebench) and I bought
for 303€, which is not the best gpu. I got gpu today, I am watching olimpic games (our team win gold in water-polo and I am waiting finale of female volleyball) so I just installed os and drivers and haven't test this build in real world scenario, and I don't think that it will be something special. I will know when I try it with GAMES!!!!! I will post results when I play a few games. But it doesn't matter if it performs or not, it looks so good!
I know that comments will be that it is build for other purpose.
I used to work in 3ds and Adobe, I used to write a lot of software and I used VMs for testing, but now I am lazy so I just play games and watch movies. Well I was young........

srmarkovic reacted to Julian5 in Project Elemental [Build Log]
Excuse the clickbait, So I just upgraded from an old i3 540 system (specs in signature) and I decided to do a build log...
Specs:
i5 6500
z170-a PRO MSI
8Gb of Hyperx Ram
s340 Black
240gb Toshiba SSD
Apex 600w PSU (Wsed)
Gtx 660 oc Windforce (from old PC)
Please excuse the blurry Iphone 4s pictures
Parts! (was supposed ot be 24hour shipping but it took 5 days....
600w PSU and Gtx 660 Pulled out of the old system.
Installed the tx3i with the nasty intel mounting, (fell off 3 times inside the case)
Just a pic while testing the pc, all parts inside! (Had to remove the cpu cooler because I could not acces the 8 pin power connector.
Added some red Leds, looks bad on the picture but is amazing in real life!
Build is done, downloaded windows and oced the cpu to 4ghz while I was waiting, got 45c in bios.
I could not install windows 7 in any way because it asked for drivers bould could not recognise any usb drives to browse for the drivers, currently downloading windows 8 since it comes with more modern drivers.
Will add a costum loop in a couple days/weeks, follow for more!

Thanks man!
Bottom fans will pull air in, top fans will blow out. I already removed the sticker:D
Thanks man! I think you will enjoy the final pictures as well then:D
It really is the material price that is jacking up the MSRP. For example, the alu profiles is almost 4 kilo´s alone. Most other cases are sheetmetal of very thin metal, and then some injection molded plastic.
Grab a snickers instead!
Final pictures almost ready! Small teaser!
