  1. Try turning on your system immediately after it shuts off to see if this can replicate the problem. Im having this problem too with my 1080. I didnt think it was the graphics card since i didn't try unplugging and replugging the dp cable. Its beginning to sound like a driver issue though since someone with a 1050ti has that problem too...
  2. Hey guys. I'm having a strange problem with my PC where if I try to turn it back on after immediately turning off, I can't boot into Windows. It will post and then give me a weird pink/purple strip about 3/4"-1" thick across the top middle of the screen then go black. I can turn it off by holding the power button after that and turning it back on and it will get into Windows after that and everything seems to be working fine but I was wondering what this is a symptom of. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!!
  3. I thought that at first so I tried again another night to see test it and still got the same results. I live in a tropical climate so the temps are pretty consistent and I don't live in AC so not sure if room temps could be a huge factor like that. I was using an AIO for both but I kept the fan curves the same. The only thing I can really think of is that my mobo was over-volting my CPU under the auto/stock setting until i set it to sit around 1.3 maybe? do they do that out of the box sometimes?
  4. Hello! I was dialing in my overclock on my i7 7700K and I noticed that my temps are actually about 7-8ºC lower than when it was running at stock frequencies and voltages. I got it to 4.7 GHz @ 1.3 V so far but before everything was set to auto and it was 4.2 GHz @ 1.2 V supposedly. My question was if anyone else experienced this when they where overclocking their Kaby Lake too (or any CPU for that matter) and if anyone had could tell me why.
  5. I currently have an iHome keyboard from 2007 and a Microsoft 2 button + 1 wheel mouse. I also have some kind of Creative speakers and sub from 2007 as well.
  6. I do have another question regarding that CPU+GPU relationship. There's plenty of people on the YouTube that I seen running FXs and A10s/8s with like 980ti's on maxed settings with little differences than if it were an Intel CPU (some more noticeable than others). Are these guys not as optimized in their build configs matching those up or were the 980tis in a lesser category than the 1080?
  7. Hmm so let's say some one already had an FX system built and had the money for a 1080. Should they spend the money on upgrading CPU (and the works) and then start to save again for the 1080?
  8. This is just a thought experiment, not an actual build so I really never had planned a purpose for it myself. I just wanted to see why people chose what, but it seems my question has been misinterpreted as "I'm building this thing and need help," instead of the intended question: "If given the choice between these 2 PCs for free (both of which have the same stuff as much as possible), and let's further assume that you don't have a PC, which one would you rather own and why?" This pretty much all started because of a wish list I put together comparing the prices between a 6600k+GTX1080, a 6600k+RX480, a 6700k+GTX1080, and a 6700k+RX480. But I guess both would be used for some audio production (that's the reason why I went with FX and i7; more threads) and gaming. I would also like to have the possibility for 4k as well. I'm more or less aware that an RX480 can't push 4k like a GTX1080 so then I started to wonder how much it would cost to put together a build (as similar as possible) with an AMD CPU with a 1080 in the same matx case in search of that "golden middle way" but it seems I've fallen off path. Oh Holy Buddahs; please help me walk this middle path!!
  9. Mostly chose the ROG board because of the number of USB ports, has both type A and C 3.1 ports, as well as the on board wifi. The stability of the board couldn't hurt either I figured
  10. Mostly because I was dicking around with parts and couldn't find a better AM3+ matx board.
  11. Hmm ic. So high end GPUs should be only run by Intel then?
  12. FX8350(price without $700 GTX1080): http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bmachang/saved/DbTv6h i7 6700k(price without $250 RX480): http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bmachang/saved/pddNnQ Sorry about the delay... Had to make a pcpartspicker list since the price pictures were from newegg. Also, since there's no more stock of either GPU right now, couldn't get that information. I also didn't include all the extra cable stuff because that's all the same again (about $30)
