  1. It doesn't show it in the disk manager at all. I think the other comments are correct that it just isn't compatible and I would need to use the adapter. Thank you for your reply!
  2. Hey I've been having trouble getting my computer to recognize a new SATA III M.2 SSD. The motherboard I have is the MSI Z170A SLI Plus which has a M.2 slot that is listed as 2280 Key M(PCIe Gen3 x4) in the specifications. The M.2 card that I have is a Team Group MS30 M.2 2280 512GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) TM8PS7512G0C101. From my research and numerous attempts in tweaking BIOS settings to recognize the device, is it true that I will need an adapter to get the SSD and MOBO to work together properly? Something like this https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-2-5in-Adapter-Converter-SAT32M225/dp/B00ITJ7U20 that will convert the PCIe port to a SATA port? Thanks for any help you can provide!
  3. Will any issues arise if I have a monitor with freesync and a monitor with gsync connected to an nvidia graphics card? Main gaming would be on a 144hz monitor with gsync and other monitor is an ultra wide 60hz with freesync that would be used for other programs on the side (Spotify, YouTube, etc.)
  4. You think the 3600 over the 3600x? I don’t have a different cooler either, I used the stock for my i5, is that something I should look into as well? Also will this be able to run most games at 120+ FPS at high settings at 144hz? Some of the games I play are destiny, gta, escape from tarkov, etc. Thanks for your reply.
  5. 16gb ram, 120gb ssd, 2tb hard drive and I’ll upgrade my psu if necessary
  6. Right now I have a i5 6500, radeon r9 fury and msi z170a mobo
  7. Looking to upgrade my PC. What is the best gpu cpu and mobo trio I can get for gaming at 1440p 144hz? Looking to spend around $1000.
  8. Hmm alright I didn’t consider an i9. Any recommendations on a 750w power supply?
  9. Somewhat of a repost but I’ve decided to up my budget a bit (500 to 750) so I’m wondering how that will change people’s opinions. I'm looking to upgrade my PC with about a $750 budget (USD). In another thread regarding some stuttering issues I've started to experience I've been informed that my CPU is probably bottlenecking my PC. So I'm definitely looking to get a new CPU but don't know if it would be worth getting a new motherboard as well so I can get a better CPU. These are my current specs: CPU: Intel i5-6500 @3.20GHz (stock cooler) RAM: 16 GB DDR4 2400MHz (4 x 4GB sticks) GPU: Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury 4GB Motherboard: MSI Z170A SLI Plus LGA 1151 PSU: Seasonic 550W 80+ Gold Storage: 250 GB SSD 2 1TB HDD I've been advised to pick up an Intel 7700k, 7700, 6700k, or 6700. I'm debating whether it makes more sense to pick up a new mother board so I can go with an 8700k instead rather than spending more money on the older 7700k. I'm not set in stone on an intel cpu either if there is an AMD processor that you think would be better. With my ~$750 budget in mind whats the best way I can spend my money to maximize my build? Should I get a cheaper upgraded cpu and put money in to something else instead? Thanks in advance!!

  11. So you think sticking on the Intel route is my best bet?
  12. I just like to have other "background noise" through loading screens and during more casual gaming sessions. GTA V loading screens seem to take forever and its nice to be able to check out a stream when I'm thirsted in Apex or what not. It's probably about time for an upgrade anyway though so you're right about solving two problems at once. I'll definitely try setting a higher priority in task manager though and see if that solves the issue. Thanks.
  13. Alright, thanks. Any suggestions off the top of your head on an upgrade that will still fit my motherboard?
  14. Alright, thanks. Maybe it's time for me to start looking for an upgrade then. Any suggestions?
  15. When I don't have twitch open I don't experience the stuttering, but I'm trying to see what I can do to eliminate the problem when I do have twitch open. The stuttering doesn't happen with all other games I play but off the top of my head there are issues when I play GTA V and Apex Legends while watching a stream as well.
  16. Recently I've been getting some stuttering in my gaming experience among various games while watching a stream on my second monitor. It isn't constant and doesn't always happen. For example I have been playing Battlefield V and watching a twitch stream on my other monitor and the game will get hung up for a second or two and lag. I'm thinking maybe it is my graphics card which is why I am posting in this sub. My specs are as follows: CPU: Intel i5-6500 @3.20GHz RAM: 16 GB DDR4 2400MHz (4 x 4GB sticks) GPU: Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury 4GB Motherboard: MSI Z170A SLI Plus LGA 1151 PSU: Seasonic 550W 80+ Gold I'm not sure if there is somewhere I can look on my PC to see what could be causing this lag since the game doesn't fully crash or anything. Any help or advice is welcome and thank you in advance!
  17. Thanks for the help everyone, just ordered the Fury.
  18. I saw something that said 390x was better than fury for 1080p, do you know anything about that? They're both basically the same price with the sapphire nitro r9 fury at 350 and the MSI r9 390x at 325. @catzambia @Mi26
  19. I made a post earlier today describing my situation with purchasing a GPU. In short I have a monitor with Freesync, so I'm bound to purchase an AMD GPU for my first PC. I'm getting tired of waiting for the rx480 to come in stock after first waiting for the reference cards for a month and then waiting for the aftermarket cards for another month. I just want to finally be able to play games like Fallout 4 and Overwatch in 1080p max settings. It was suggested to me to look into an r9 fury instead of the rx480 since it is faster anyway. In brief searches I found the sapphire nitro r9 fury and also the MSI r9 390x on newegg which both fit into my budget of around $350. The MSI card is currently on sale for $320 with the original being $425. What are your thoughts between these two cards? Is there a different brand you would suggest for either the r9 fury or the r9 390x? Thanks for any help and if you need to know the other specs of my PC let me know.
  20. Any brand in particular you'd recommend? @super_skank Also how do you think the Fury's will do in the near future? I'm not looking to have to upgrade GPU's all that often so in your opinion will this be able to at least provide an above average gaming experience for the next year or two?
  21. I'm in the US so I assumed I would at least see listings that say "out of stock" or "currently unavailable"
  22. That's what I thought as I've seen many youtuber reviews on them but when I go to the company websites for them they don't even have them listed
  23. Well then it seems the 480 is my only option. Despite numerous google searches I couldn't find any information on potential release dates for the aftermarket 480's. Any input on when you think they might be released?
  24. Hey, I'm wondering what my options are for buying a graphics card? I've been putting it off for almost 2 months now. First I was advised to wait for the rx480 to finally come out and now I've been advised to wait for the aftermarket 480 cards to come out. The reason I'm thinking I'm sort of "stuck" with AMD is that I have a freesync monitor and have been advised that I should utilize this feature for a better gaming experience. Is the 480 my only AMD option right now? I want a GPU that is decently fast. NVIDIA seems to have way more options right now with the 1060, 1070, and 1080 all available. Although I don't want to spend a ton of money for a high end card like a 1080 it doesn't even seem like AMD offers any new cards besides the 480. I'm anxious to finally be able to use my new PC. Can I get by with v-sync, allowing me to go the NVIDIA route, playing games like fallout 4 and overwatch or would the tearing be terrible? Sorry for the long post and thanks for any help you can provide.
  25. Hey there! Currently working with an Azio kb501 keyboard, a Logitech M305 mouse, and for my headphones I have a pair of Sennheiser hd 201 headphones. The extended mousepad looks pretty awesome with my current setup in mind and I'll definitely have to look into getting my hands on one! Thanks for the opportunity!
