  1. Hi, I am currently running a Ryzen 1700 @3.6gHz with a gtx 1070, and am getting quite significant microstutter while OBS is open on my second screen. My main monitor is a Dell s2716dg, which is 1440p 144hz, and my secondary monitor is an AOC 1080p 60hz display. I have read that there is often a problem when converting the frames from the 144hz to 60hz but have not found any solution that fully works. Does anyone know of something that may help?
  2. If you don't mind buying used you may be able to find a good deal on something like a gtx1060 but that is only recommended if you don't mind the potential risk. Otherwise you are pretty stuck with a 1050ti or rx560.
  3. Check out Microcenter for your CPU/Motherboard, they usually have incredible bundles. I am looking at getting a 1700x + b350 Tomahawk for $350 which is essentially buying the CPU and getting the motherboard for free.
  4. Sorry I'm a bit late on this thread but I love the custom backplate. How do you print out for the perfect paint? Is it just a vinyl sticker?

    New Headphones

Hi, I am just starting to look into a pair of high-quality headphones and the pairs that stand out the most to me are the Audio-Technica ATH-WS770is and the WS1100is. The 1100iS is on sale on amazon for $140 while the 770iS are $93, and don't really see the difference in the two. Are there any things that I'm just not seeing or would I just be wasting money going for the 1100iS's? Edit: I really like deep basses and its important that these sound good.
  6. Why the 6700k when a 7700k is only about $20 more? Or say a 6700k versus a r7 1700?
  7. That's crazy, I have been thinking about getting into streaming lately and will consider this. Does this trend continue into the i7 and r7's as well? I would need it to justify a new motherboard as well since I'm currently running Intel/Nvidia.
  8. partpicker list in original post, with Windows 10 64bit.
  9. I was thinking this was the problem, and have been pondering an upgrade within the summer. I've heard ryzen kills it with the multitasking/streaming but haven't looked too much into it yet.
  10. When using my second monitor for playing a podcast or youtube video of some sort, I get microstutter in game. As far as I know this should not be happening as I am not usually playing intense games (mainly happens in Dirty Bomb), and gets really annoying as it is pretty random when it happens. I have checked my CPU usage and it usually hovers around 80-90% usage when this happens. I have an i5-6600k and a 1070ftw (full build here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BGMf4C) so I am not really sure what is causing this as it only happens when chrome and a game are open. Would a bit of a CPU overclock solve this? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!
  11. I just meant it as a means of competition leading to slight price drops, probably not a very reliable option at this point for this monitor's specs though.. I should have made that clear in the original post.
  12. The Dell s2716dg is on sale on the Microcenter website for 499.99USD, and after waiting months to see a good deal, would anyone say to wait for competition from the newer 8k monitor and the 244hz releases? Any advice would help! http://www.microcenter.com/product/458837/s2716dg_27_led_g-sync_gaming_monitor
  13. After building my first PC, I was excited to get it going and sadly have found a large roadblock. I have a USB plugged in and is not allowing me to use an ISO file to boot up through the usb. I have an Asus z170-a motherboard and it is running Version 2.17.1246
  14. So click it into the motherboard I/O then before screwing the mobo in, push the mobo so that the shield clicks in?
  15. While building my first system, i was going to install the motherboard into the case and can't for the life of me get the I/O to match up with the shield. I have the Asus z170-a motherboard and the small metal prongs on the I/O shield are constantly catching on the motherboard as I try to slide it into place. I was wondering are they supposed to be cut off? bent outwards then back in? Are they even necessary/ give any benefits?
