If that doesn't work just start turning the modem on at night. Tell her that she is leaving you no choice, and that your success in school and in life is being impeded by her lack of reasoning. Dealing with people like your mom and worse will be a part of life soon, so it's time to step up to the plate and give your first "fuck off" to the world.
 
For real though, if she is honestly preventing you from completing school work because of her stigma then you have every right to contact social services. Let her know that if all else fails.

So you are basically someone that hates on everything that's popular? Well 1 billion sold units is OBJECTIVELY GOOD. The products that Apple ships are also objectivity good. Their specs are good, their tech is good, the included features are good and if you personally don't like the aesthetic of the product and it's UI doesn't mean that it isn't objectively good. And the same for music. JB's production is very good and his singing is good as well, and you just dislike it like an edgy teen.

1/8 of the world.. To the haters on iPhones there is always a reason to get one or not. It is your opinion. Yes they are expensive but you are paying for things like optimization, security, and new technology that androids usually copy. 3D touch, NVME, and the list goes on.

1) True, but I still get a lot done on my iPhone despite the lack of split screen. 
 
2) iPad Pro running iOS is precisely why I love it. I use my iPad in the classroom every day, mirrored to the smart board via an Apple TV. I love having a wide selection of optimised tablet apps, inbuilt 4G, the long battery life and the Apple Pencil. At home, my iPad is my go to device for entertainment and light gaming. 
 
And guess what? I am increasingly using my iPad Pro over my Mac for many tasks, precisely because it runs ios and not OSX. I like that my iPad is not a PC replacement but instead has its own sets of strengths. This allows me to use the best device for any given scenario. 
 
There are times when I still run back to my Mac when the iPad just isn't enough, but they are getting less and less.

I think the heaviest thing I will be doing is gaming, I don't think I will ever need to transcode anything major, and if I did an overclocked i5 should be good.
