  1. So recently my old mobo and cpu due to some issue gave up on me, so today I'll be getting my new cpu and motherboard, but the confusion now is , my ssd has still the OS installed on it and the hdd is also attached to that old setup, so when I'll be installing the new mobo and cpu and connecting the old drives on it, so do I need to install Windows 10 again for the new mobo and cpu or just plugging in the existing drives with OS installed on them will work? Please help me with this. Thank you
  2. Hmmm ordering directly from them will not be worth it logistical cost will add up and no service centres here. So thats out of question
  3. well Asrock boards are not available here in Kolkata
  4. well at the gigabyte price bracket msi is giving the h170 gaming m3 with some feature. So what shall I do coz being a H170 chipset the gigabyte is missing a few things.
  5. Well recently my old system went down. So thought of upgrading and thus on a tight budget , I am getting a i5-6500 and 8GB avexir core ram. Now the main question and tricky part , the motherboard. Well a few days back with the help of people here in this forum I had selected the Gigabyte G1.Sniper B7 motherboard as I don't need to OC and it had enough I/O for my needs. SO yester day when I went to buy the components I was informed at the store that the Gigabyte g1.sniper b7 has gone out of stock and possibly it will not be back anymore. So I am thus now left with my old budget although seeing the present situation I have increased my budget by INR 2,000 (I am from India). So thus now I am left with 3 options. Which are- 1. Gigabyte GA-H170-D3H http://mdcomputers.in/products/motherboard-939319153/ga... 2. MSI H170 GAMING M3 http://mdcomputers.in/products/motherboard-939319153/ga... 3. MSI Z170A PC MATE http://mdcomputers.in/products/motherboard-939319153/ga... Note- I am from India so the prices are in INR So out of all these which I should I go for? coz the motherboard is the only factor stopping me. One more question which brand should be good as far as quality and durability is concerned. I am asking this coz I have seen many people favouring the Gigabyte over MSI, as some have said MSI has bad QC and components and has maximum defective boards. So please guide me on this.
  6. message as a pm or a the message you wanted to convey to me via your above ss?
  7. Yes I guess I'll go with g1 sniper. One thing I read right now its written that b150 wont support turbo boost, well that cant be true when it supports 6th CPUs then it should support turbo boost.
  8. well I guess you have hands on experience, so how is the system working for you? and btw are you from Kolkata?
  9. well yes I remember you and cant thank you enough for your extensive help. still you know being a budget builder we have to think a lot before making it final. So I saw on msi h170 board that it supports XMP thus made me to have second thoughts. Well I guess I should go with your final advise
  10. So I am in a fix and this is keeping me from going and buying new CPU . So I am a budget builder so every penny saved is a lot. I have 2 options- 1. i5-6402p with a Gigabyte H170 D3H mobo and avexir core green 8gb ddr4 single stick ram 2. i5-6500 with a Gigabyte g1.sniper b7 and avexir core green 8gb ddr4 single stick ram. So the situation is budget is giving me 2 options, which are either a weaker cpu with a better h170 board or better cpu with a 1 tier lower motherboard a b150. I don't need RAID feature from H170 but does the XMP profile help me to a 2400mhz ram on a board which supports 2133 by default.? Please help, I will take my final decision based on the community's reply so please give me the best value for money option. Thank you in advance.
  11. Well I have a Intel DH61WW motherboard paired with a i5-2500K , I know this is a very weird combination, well at the tine when I built this system which was my first, I had very less idea about pc components, so I took what the pc shop guy gave. Well in spite of this weird combo, I had no problems all these years, I had really pleasant experience installed many gpus and rams all worked flawless. Fast forward 2016, I recently did a overhaul of my rig, bought a 120gig SSD, 1TB HDD coz old one failed, 12gig of HyperX ram clocked at 1866, well it auto adjusted to 1333 and it all worked just superb no issues. Recently a week ago I upgraded the gpu from 650ti Boost to gtx 960 and also changed my stock intel cooler for Cooler Master seidon 120V plus AIO. Even after all these upgrades the system ran awesome although its been quiet a long time on such a budget mobo. but just 2 days back when I switched on my pc, on the POST stage, the computer did not turn on , it gave me no display and was beeping 3 times in intervals of 1sec. Thus knowing the beep codes I checked the memory first, I took out the ram and cleaned it for dust and re seated it, still no success, then again swapped the slots for both sticks , still no use beeps persisted. Again took out those HyperX sticks and used one of my 1333 value rams which were working on my other system, still with the other RAMs the beeps persisted. Then although it wasn't a GPU issue, still I checked the GPU on my other system and it worked flawless, thus GPU was good too, while I was at it I tried to use the on board VGA display by not installing the gpu and thus without gpu too the issue persisited. then I checked the CPU cooler it works fine, no signs of leak , I even checked if thermal paste was creating issues but it was good. THus even after checking all components everthing seemed fine. Even the PSU is working just fine, donno what happen. Oh one more thing a few days ago the clip of the PCIE 2.0 x16 slot came off so I was using the gpu without the clip but it was working well. Note- I have also tried clearing the BIOS by taking out the CMOS battery for 15 mins and do that jumper thing, but still issue persists Thus beeps still persist, so please help me to know whats the issue. Although I am upgrading to 6th gen but still want to know at least what happened to my old board Thank you
  12. Ok thanks a lot , sorry for pestering you so much. Really thanks a lot.
  13. Great answer, such detailed explanation. Very informative but concise. I am really grateful to you for the all the help and the time you devoted to my query. well yes I went through the specs and kinda did a self study and found the B150 suits my needs. well the fan part, I am not the type of guy who would deck up the system with bunch of fans, the fans that I fan on my chassis and system are , the 3 chassis fans, 1 radiator fan, 1 cpu fan header to be used by the AIO pump that's it I don't need anymore, plus the chassis fans connect to molex points so that's sorted. I need help with one more thing though the gigabyte is providing cFos lan and msi h170 is providing killerLan does this tech make any diff? if they do which one is better? or are these just marketing gimmicks
