  1. Apologies, I typoed there. I meant to say : Writing from another drive to the drive I'm trying to transfer data TO also works fine. So it's not my external SSD and I have the same problem if I use another SSD. It appears to be that the SSD kind of "forgot" about the old files. New files seem to read just fine. I'm currently in the process of moving all my data to the external SSD and then wiping that drive, hoping that it will work normally again.
  2. Thanks for your fast reply. It's attached via Sata III and I believe it has 500 MB of DRAM. Given that the SSD benchmarks and can be written to fine, I'm confident that the port and cable are fine. I'm only using about 139 GB of the drive. When I try to access the files on the drive it's a little slow, but nothing too crazy, and the files themselves are fine. If I put new files on the drive and try to acess those they work perfectly fine and as fast as would be expected. Would moving all the files to another SSD, wiping the drive and then putting them back fix it?
  3. I have a 512 GB Sandisk Ultra 3D SSD that I bought like 2 years ago, that I don't use much, but generally works fine. However I noticed that when I try to pull data off the drive to another drive the transfer is painfully slow. It does not matter if the files are big or small, I get something like 2-3 MB/s. Crystal Disk Mark shows normal performance, accessing the files on the drive itself also works fine. Writing to the drive also works fine at above 400 MB/s. Writing from another drive to the drive I'm trying to transfer the data from also works fine. Writing from the Sandisk Drive to another drive also provides me with 2-3/MBs. So it really does appear that this drive specifically does not like me pulling data off it. How do fix this? I feel like I've done all the troubleshooting I can.
  4. We do not have pain receptors, nociceptors are not pain receptors. By extension we don't have pain nerves either. Pain is created in the brain. Assuming that an unrelated thing is causing pain through a bunch of interactions violates Ockham's razor and the likely hood that it's actually correct is very small. Same thing here.
  5. Tbh, considering the bullshit chiropractors say that wouldn't even be a unusually stupid thing for some of them to suggest lol.
  6. Seems extremely unlikely. Sometimes things are weird and maybe the gpu drivers are fucking with your connection for some reason, but you would need to validate it a bunch of times to be sure. Swapping a GPU takes like 5 minutes tho so just try it, test your internet with the 1060, swap in the 5700 XT, test your internet again. If you do that a few times and you get significant increases in your ping with the 5700 XT each time you might be on to something.
  7. Powerconsumption absolutely is important, insignificant differences in powerconsumption are just insignificant. With things such as fridges, heathers, washing machines, dryers and the like savings in power consumption over time can be quite significant. Also for everything that is limited by a battery such as electric vehicles, laptops, phones powerconsumption is even more important. (On top of that electricity is much more expensive in other countries, idk where OP is from but I pay 26ct per kwh)
  8. In an apples to apples comparison such as the same monitor at 60 vs 240 Hz the consumption will be higher. This is obvious as the monitor simply has to do more work, now is that going to be a meaningful difference? No it is not. In the the video about building a very power efficent computer Anthony states that going from 4k 60hz to 4k 144hz increases the power draw about 5 watts. (And the monitor uses between 60 and 160 Watts depending on what you are doing so it's a 3-8% increase) I imagine it would be slightly higher for 240 hz, maybe 10 watts. If you are using a more powerful computer to get 240 fps along those 240 hz then that will make a more significant difference in the consumption.
  9. More often . Also as needed. If your PC is not dusty, there is not need to clean it. If it is get to it. Compressed air is good, if your PC is filthy it might not be enough and you might need to take it apart.
  10. That's a really slow CPU man. Why would you underclock it that hard???? (I'm taking the piss because it's Ghz ?)
  11. Shame, can you tell me where/what part of it broke exactly?
  12. I recently had bought a new SSD and had to uninstall my GPU in order to access my Sata ports (Thanks stupid S340 Elite bracket) and when I reinstalled it there was a horrible noise. A few minutes of troubleshooting later I had figured out that it was the left fan on my GPU and that it was wobbly/lose and scraping against the heathsink and or the shroud. I figured there might be some lose screws or something but the screws didn't look lose, a few moments of messing around with the fan later I figured out that I could just pull of the fan (and also put it back in, seems to be held in with some sort of magnet.) https://m.imgur.com/a/85pCypk and now I' m trying to figure out if/how I can restore the fan to it's former glory. I have confirmed that this is the only issue because the card is fine with the one fan removed. (even under load, just shit temps and probably throttling) So my questions are 1. How is the fan held in the first place? It looks like it might have been glued in addition the magnet. https://m.imgur.com/a/fdJqUvu 2. Is there a way to fix this without buying replacement fans? True to my name I happen to be broke af so I'd prefer it if there was a way to not buy replacement fans. I hope somebody can help me and thanks for your help! ?
  13. I'm pretty sure this is an elaborate troll, they only ask for a 100$ deposit to pre-order one of them. I think even for the Model 3 they asked for 1000$ and this car is more expensive.
  14. You might get a useable key, you might not. I've bought two Windows Keys on ebay for under 5$ and they worked perfectly fine. Given that it is a gamble, I'd a buy a less expensive one on ebay.
  15. No, it's not Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm not so uncultured that I wouldn't recognize Yu-Gi-Oh. ? It didn't have this kind of powerlevel it was a rank/tier system. So tier/level 1 demon/whatever, tier 2 etc. Nope it's neither of the unfortunately. I mean a rank/tier system for the demons/whatever. Unfortunately it's not one of those either, but I will try to find some time to go through that list. Thanks man! Nah it's not Bleach, but I've been meaning to watch it. Is it worth the time? ?
