  1. If you dont have a wristband just touch something that is grounded from time to time(not 100% safe but I never fucked up like this, no guarante tho) do not touch any contacts ever! VGA,CPU,RAM,and almost all components are operating in the 1-2 digit Volt range an ESD has arround 1-3 THOUSAND Volts do not let the socket of your cpu open too long do not drink at the table(obvious) do not hesitate! no part of a pc has feet and will run away! do not bend or scratch the mainboard when installing do not forget the mainboard spacers do not think: "AHH that wont happen to me!" ... IT WILL (Fuck you Murphy, RIP Organized Screws on the edge of the table) do not wear any clothes that will charge you do not take too much and especially not too little thermal compound (about 2-3 mm radius drop is normal) do not let the heatsink wobble arround and install all screws like you mount a tire: diagonal (i.e.: left top > right bottom > left bottom > right top) use your brain its a logical progress always think 1 ,2 or more steps ahead nothing has to be bended to be installed MANAGE YOUR CABLES OR SATAN HIMSELF WILL KILL YOU unmanaged cables wont block airflow but you paid so much dont let it look like crap. managed cables help you access anything faster after installing it My fathers Instructor always said:"Your work will look like your Workbench!" EDIT: Complex isn't anything good in this aspect! Just brainstorming...
  2. Its a german site (dunno where you are from): Mindfactory.de (if you get used to it it might help you researching)
  3. Ok just googled them... fuck they look smooth. Now I understand you
  4. Ok I am not a VR pro or playing on anything higher then 1080p then i understand your decission. I didnt check what the ram costs. But normally its nor worth to pay double for RAM with higher clockspeed! Normally a 2133 DDR4 should be pretty cheap
  5. So you downloaded TheCenter in the DLC section?(its free) Go in game to see if there is a "updating ... " or "installing ..." in the left bottom? <- normally just used for mods, but you never know.
  6. Take the cheapest RAM that you find with decent chips and dont forget that the chips have to be on both sides. If there is a 3200 ram with the same chips as a 1600 you should be able to overclock the 1600 to 3200. I think i would go with some 30-40 bucks ram. (Fucked up in my builds) Depending on what you play, you could normally take 1 gpu... IMO 2 suck(you can upgrade if you need to). I´m playing almost any game on 60+ FPS on high settings with a 970 (on sandy bridge). AND High setting isn´t always the best. CPU wise i love you for the i5 decission! NO gamer needs a i7. (unless you do the good old 10 gamers 1 cpu thingy, or you do some video rendering) just some ideas and opinions
  7. CPU 1. I7 2700k 2. i5 6600k Motherboard 1. ASUS P8P67 PRO 2.MSI Z170A So.1151 RAM 1. 16GB HyperX Savage red DDR3-1866 2. 16GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3200 GPU 1. MSI Gaming 4G GTX 970 2. Radeon Sapphire HD 7870 Those are my two computers and they are in the same gen (same mb aswell ) I can definately tell you that the 2 cpus have a lot of air there is no bottlenecking, but your cpus are a weaker version so your old cpu might get problems with shomething like ARMA III or any CPU intensive game! even the new i5 might have problems in a worst case scenario in games like arma, but i dont really know a cpu that is not getting wrecked by arma the GPU intensive games are no problem at all as you might expect i dont think you "old" CPU will have any problems at all so you can stick with it a little bit longer If you get some microstuttering display you CPU GPU RAM and VRAM usage and see wht is close to 100% I had microstutters in ARK: Surviavl Evolved ... what a surprise who doesnt have ;D, but the game was running fine otherwise so i did some investigation and my 8 GB ram were at 7.5 -7.8 GB used! i got me a 16GB kit and there was 80% less stuttering. later i upgraded to a MSI Gaming 4G GTX 970 from a Radeon Sapphire HD 7870 and now all my components are at 30 -70% usage on gaming sessions on both of my PCs the i5 runs games up to witcher3 on pretty high settings and my i7 runs any game i got on decent fps on max settings. The new CPUs aren´t really that much better in gaming you can still play almost any game with a i5 at 3-3.5GHZ most games with even less. as long as the cpu and ram usage is under 60-70% and at ok temps while gaming without any stuttering. there is no reason to change anything. even if its gets hot, get some new thermal paste on the cpu and try again! works 90% of the time. IMO you can stick with it a bit longer! as both computers are pretty much the same strength (sandy is even a little stronger still!)
  8. Thanks for the answer! Thats what i tought but the ratings on the selling sites were bad ... maybe they kinked the cable near the soldering points or are 2 dumb for a cable ... anyways thanks for the help! if anyone else thinks he might add anything please do so every bit of information is a lot of help as i didnt use riser cables up to now 80$ for a high qualitiy 50 cm riser seems ok, not cheap at all, but ok
  9. This seems like one i saw online. I would be very happy if you could test it for me. Thanks for letting me know tell me when it arrives Thanks
  10. Hi guys, This is my first time posting here after I didnt find anything that really fits my needs. I want to start a little business and i really need a reliable and quality source of good riser cables/cards to start producing my product. I want to connect VGAs which might go up to 1080, 1070, Titans, Furys etc. but as there is not really space where they go. Thats why i really need a reliable and maybe not insanely expensive riser cable. Amazon just deliverd results with Ratings like 3.0 max and the comments were horrible. (which might just be because people are dumb from time to time but its a concern anyways) I remembered Linus vid with the under the Table PC and his riser cable was working fine like always... but i dont know where he got those and how they are named... can anyone help me? Only thing I found that looks promising (i hope alu is kinda coated or sth like this): Sorry for the german Website: Delock Riser Card for PCIe (41800) http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Delock-Riser-Card-fuer-PCIe--41800-_835361.html Thanks
