  1. So far the consensus is to get a 4790k over a xeon? I also have 16gb right now, I was planning on getting a ddr4 32gb kit.
  2. Unfortunately not, I am hitting 80-90% cpu and memory usage and i have to close things to continue working and it's becoming a hindrance. I am going to be giving my current pc away to family; save for the samsung ssd and gtx 980.
  3. I'm upgrading from my i5 4670k and ASRock Extreme 4 and looking to get something more suitable to my needs. My job requires me to have multiple visual studios open at once, chrome/Firefox with 20+ tabs, SQL server and other tasks. I would also be using this PC to game, currently I play wow, wildstar and heroes of the storm but I would like to run new titles out at Max settings as well. Which would be the better investment encompassing all of this, an i7 or a Xeon chip? My budget is 350 for the CPU and around 250 for the motherboard. Any suggestions would be really helpful.
  4. Hey guys, I had found this Asus All in one for my home office, partly because space is very sparse for a tower. I was wondering if there were any matching monitors that had the same finish to match this one? Here's the All in one. https://www.asus.com/AllinOne-PCs/Zen-AiO-Pro-Z240IC/
  5. hrm So I'd have to contact a shop to cut the Acrylic out for me and then find some way to mount it onto the area that I want. I certainly could do that, I was just hoping to find something that I could just order.
  6. Hey all, I have a Corsair 900D and I was planning on adding a shield to cover the drive bays and other areas. Something very similar to this The covers where the Asus Logos are, I was wondering if anyone has purchased something like this before and if so, what retailer?
  7. I was more concerned with running Wildstar as it's a very intensive game and not having any drops in performance.
  8. Hey guys, I've got an Asus Strix GTX 970 and I use that to power my Phillips 2560x1440 monitor. I was looking into getting a secondary monitor for youtube, notes and other misc tasks. What would be the best way to use the second monitor (probably 1920x1080) with minimal load on my gpu?
  9. Alright so I'll sell the GTX 760 for around $150. And The recomendation is to get the GTX 970? Is the 4GB VRAM going to be perfectly fine?
  10. Hey fellas, My system: CPU: i5-4670k Motherboard: Z87 ASrock Extreme 3 GPU: MSI GTX 760 PSU: Corsair 750Watt Gold HDD: Toshiba 2TB Heatsink - Hyper 220 EVO RAM: 8GB G Skill Ripjaws. Monitor: Philips 272P4( 27" Wide LCD 2560x1440) I currently use it for Video Games(Wildstar, League of Legends, Civ 5) and Software Development using ASP.NET MVC. The Problem: I'm interested in maxing out WIldstar on my 1440 Display and I currently am running into issues. So I average 30-35FPS. and I get as low as 5FPS when it's 200+ people in a single area; although this is not common, it's about 2 times a week usually for about an hour). I'm looking to get around 50-60 FPS minimums. I'm Going to order a SSD, i'm not entirely sure which one would be best but I'm leaning towards the Samsung 850 EVO 250gb as that should improve some of my performance. I might order another 2 sticks of 8GB g skill ripjaws but I'm not sure if I should just order a higher frequency kit of 16GB. So, Should I get another MSI GTX 760 and SLI them? Or should I sell the 760 for around 130-150$ and use that to buy another single dedicated GPU. I'm also fairly partial to Nvidia and would prefer to stay away from AMD. The budget is around 400 for the GPU and 130 for the SSD. What's your opinion?
  11. Oh man 1 million subscribers! I first saw a linus tech tips video when linus was still rocking the blonde hair and the frosted tips, i thought it was a joke video at first but then i realized he knew his stuff. I'm still waiting for the day he comes back with the frosted tips..
  12. I actually love the all metallic chassi.

  14. Well ill be buying from micro center as I live in canada and am a border city so I'm 15 min from a microcenter. Also I was considering the corsair 430 but out of the 60 reviews ive read on that psu it seems to be great quality. Also, wouldnt the 660 be better for photoshop because of cuda?
  15. I'm building a light gaming and 3D Animation pc for a friend and i'm a little stuck. Currently the build that I have is as follows: Cpu: FX 6300 119 $ Heatsink: Stock Amd Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 39 $ Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3 69 $ Gpu: ASUS GTX660-DC2 OC -2GD5 207 $ Hdd: 1tb WD blue (recycling this from my build) Psu: Inland Gold Series ILG-400-2 400 Watt 29 $ - The issue that I have is that I have a AMD Athlon II X4 640 lying around and that would allow me the budget to get a slightly better gpu, more memory and a better case. However I dont know how the athlon will perform exactly for 3d animation, Photoshop and light gaming.
