Thanks for the feedback. I know that RAID is not a backup. My backup plan was to use FreeNAS system and BackBlaze. This is going to be my Home Server with Plex/Media, Home Automation, Webserver and Security System Monitoring. I guess i shall go with RAID 6 or 60. Thanks for you responses so far

I am already using a FreeNAS system which uses ZFS and a larger storage pool in that. This is for my home lab/media server/cloud. This is going to keep my media and cloud information and will backup critical information across the NAS and BackBlaze. Just a curiosity to see how the community responds to my question.

I have 10 3TB WD Red NAS Drives. I am planning to use them in Raid, preferably in RAID5 for 5 disks and then mirror the same across the other 5. Is this possible? If so, how is it achievable in Linux (preferably Ubuntu)? Thanks in Advance

I need to recover the data with the folder structure though they are not critical. All my games and Cloud sync was on that drive and i am not looking forward to redownloading everything.

Hi, While trying to install Gentoo Linux, I had mistakenly formatted a drive from NTFS to FAT using mkfs .fat -F 32 /dev/sda2 command. Does anyone know how to recover from this? Or do I need to use some sort of recovery software?

I bought a ASUS ROG Maximus X Formula MB and a Cooler Master C700P Case. However the front Panel Connectors for the case has 2 USB 3.0 cable. However my motherboard has only 1 Usb 3.1 Header that i can connect to. Is there a Usb 3.0 splittter cable or an Internal USB 3.0 Hub like the NZXT Internal Hub that i can use to connect both the cables? Thanks in Advance

Hi, I was hoping the guys at LMG could try out a project involving 3M Novec Engineered Fluid for like N-Gamer PC build. It would be cool to see how it could be implemented and if it is a viable solution as an alternative to mineral oil cooled PC.
