So i just called my ISP, they said that i dont have VoIP and that whatever router I end up getting needs a V-bond chipset. Any idea what that is?

So first of all, while fairly adept with tech, I dont know much about modems so bear with me. Im currently trying to replace my modem from Windstream (my ISP) which I pay monthly for. The modem from Windstream is an Arris NVG343BQ https://www.arris.com/globalassets/resources/data-sheets/nvg34x_datasheet_20150501.pdf. If anyone could give me some tips on what i need to look for to replace this one it would be greatly appreciated.

My internet package came with a two in one modem/ router but i have a AC1900 linksys router. Ive tested both routers and the all in one router gives me faster downloads and upload speeds than my AC1900 but it has greater range. This doesnt make sense to me as im sure the AC1900 can handle those speeds easily. When ive tested the ac1900 ive connected it to an ethernet port on the back of the modem. Could that port be the bottle neck? Is it my ethernet cable? And whats the ONT port on the modem for? To be clear, id like to use the ac1900 router for the range it provides. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

I assume your both on red team, any reason? I'm not biased but based on most bench marks and features the green team seem pretty good.
