    Access to the files on that drive. Namely game files is now being denied. He has had to go through the permissions manager to give himself access to those files again.

    Mine updated perfectly fine to 1709. Took about 30 minutes to do its thing, no settings were changed. It came back with the new features and nothing else. That being said my friend didnt have his external hard drive plugged in and when he came back there were massive ownership issues on the files on that drive which he is still resolving.

    Right now they are building the site in html and other web frameworks. This maximizes the amount of people they can reach for the hours spent on development and so is probably the focus. Native apps for Windows UWP and macOS not only needs more development time and therefore money. As Linus said in this weeks WAN show the reason LinusMediaGroup is doing so well is that they make smart decisions and spend money wisely. Putting all of this effort into unlocking a couple of extra features native to windows does not seem wise. I would rather they invested in downloader apps that automatically grab subscribed content onto a users media server. This requires less coding as a massive UI is not needed and buys them time deploying cloud infrastructure as many people can automatically download content instead of stream it. I also know that that is an unlikely addition for the same time = money thing. I just hope for an open api that other developers like me can work with to create stuff like that.

    Each game uses the cpu in different ways so there is no way to standardize it in a way that allows you to say you need 2x the computation power to double your frame rate. You could benchmark certain games like City Skylines or Rise of the tomb raider with different framerate limits to see what they does to the cpu load when playing those games.

    Could it be that Task Manager is displaying the current frequency but the other utilities are displaying the base clock?

    As far as I know Windows 7 and 8, 8.1 etc do not support Ryzen and whatever the latest Intel cpu is. Use Windows 10

    It depends on how cpu intensive the game is. If the game is heavily cpu intensive then limiting your frames to 30fps will reduce cpu usage.

    Not much of an option here. That is just the temperature where I am in Winter. I am not gonna wrap my laptop up in a blanket to keep it warm, I doubt that will work as well.

    So just an update on this. I decided to continue playing CS Go last night but left my laptop off for a solid 9 hours in 4 degree weather. When I turned it back on the spot was gone.

    It must of been heat then. Was playing CSGO when it happened. I either rage hit it by mistake or the heat killed it. Will it go back to normal with time or is it permanent?

    No magnetic hard drives in my system. I do not know what else could be causing it? Its on the side closest to the power connector and heatsink if that helps?

    Hi there. I recently started noticed the CPU clock going from about 2.7Ghz to 0.7Ghz when i play games. This causes massive frameloss for CPU bound games. I have a Asus GL553VW with a 512Gb M.2 Sata SSD and a 250Gb Sata SSD. Core i5 6300HQ and a GTX960 When I game I turn the system fan all the way up to 100% What I started noticed was that I was being CPU throttled, core clock going down to 0.7Ghz. I decided then to run AIDA64 to see what was happening, turns out the cpu only throttles when the GPU is maxed out, they share heatpipes. However the temps of both the GPU and CPU during the stress test are fine, GPU reporting 56c and CPU 61c before throttling and then going down to 49c when throttling down to 0.7Ghz. The CPU core voltage drops from 1.029 to 0.722 during the test and stays there. While GPU voltage goes from 0.9180v to 1.1620v as reported by GPUz. This leads me to believe that this issue is caused by the power system not being able to deliver voltage to both the GPU and CPU but I have no previous knowledge about that the voltages are supposed to do. The only modifications I have made to this laptop after getting it was replacing the thermal compound with Coolermaster Essential E1 IC, something I do on all systems and installed the second 250Gb SSD. Any help figuring out what might be causing this throttling and ways to fix it would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: It should also be noted that I leave my laptop on for 5 days+ at a time, I just restarted it now and ran the same AIDA64 test, the core temps are getting up to 76 degrees now, voltage is only dropping to 0.983v and GPU is up to 71 degrees at the same voltage it go to last time so the restart appears to of solved the issue. Come to think of it sometimes when I game and havent turned my laptop off in 2 weeks it will completely shutdown while playing and then be fine when I restart it. Could this be a faulty temperature sensor or something else?

    Your right not all movies but REDs website lists a lot of them http://www.red.com/shot-on-red including the upcoming Avatars which if Avatar one is anything to go by will look amazing. Well done on your career though it sounds like an interesting profession to be in.

    okay but why has no one been able to compete with RED? I am sure Sony or BlackMagic could make something to compete with RED and bring down the price. The only reason RED rapes your left ear is because they the only ones selling what you want right

    Ummm. Help me out here a bit. I know what raw is, its super high detailed etc but a shot is a shot. You cannot changed the angle or the content of the shot just grade it etc which for a movie I can understand but for LTT. Not to be a hater, I love their content but they are not planning on shooting Avatar 2 are they?

    To be honest I see more value in a photographer having an IQ3 where that level of detail can be useful imo than a RED camera that can shoot 8K

    Can someone explain to me why though? I get almost every movie on earth is shot on RED cameras, I get that it is 8K but soon cannon, sony etc will have 8K sensors right. I honestly can not tell the difference in sharpness at 4K between his videos from last year and this year. What is the value of you spending $200k on a RED camera?
