  1. Thinking of getting an m.2 nvme drive. 960 evo offers better performance but degradation after a buffer to slow speeds (any info on which I would be grateful for) called intelligent turbo write. 950 pro has slower speeds but no performance buffere. Both similarly priced, which should I buy?
  2. Ok thanks. I will go for a d5 when I come around to the build.
  3. I fixed the problem. It seemed that the pice x16 slot was the issue. When trying to remove it before the catch was jammed and so after prying the card out the best I could, with the catch mostly open, the slot had obviously obtained an issue. Replaced the card in an x8 slot and now is performing perfectly as before.
  4. Well it reaches 60c whilst benchmarking and runs at full GPU boost speeds, so it is not thermal throttling. Also, it is at stock speed as I removed my overclock.
  5. I5 4690k msi z97 gaming 5 msi gtx 960 4gb
  6. Okay. So I recently received a new rma power supply (EVGA 750g2). After booting with it, I received only around 100-150 fps in csgo. Normally I get around around 100-150 fps more. I fully removed my display drivers with DDU and then re installed them. The strange thing is that sometimes, the fps does go back up to its old state. Anyone got any ideas why. In benchmarks, I get 1/3 my old scores. Could this be to do with the pcie slot, as I had an issue of the plastic shield nearly (it did not actually come off at any point ) being pulled off(jammed lock). If this was the case though I would assume it would not work at all. Please help.
  7. Ducky. Shine 4 is just under £100. No macros. Number pad. Different mx switches available on other models. Never bought one but I've heard they're good. Custom keycaps will have to go on top though so you would have to live with the stock for a bit.
  8. Yes. They are compatible . EK states it on their website. "Due to commonality of parts, the EK-Supremacy MX offers the potential for an upgrade to full EVO standard:"
  9. If you are buying EK coolant, then surely it makes sense to buy EK PETG tubing?. But if that tubing is easier to get, any bitspower, EK or other we'll know brands hard tubing fittings will work, assuming they have the same outer diameter listed.
  10. I would personally go for EVGA, as they provide a good warranty, and Jayztwocents showed they PC very well. Both cards will perform equally and water blocks should be easy enough to find for both as well.
  11. Yes, I would assume so, just in case. Just disconnect them at the base of the power supply just to be sure. (and if you don't have a modular psu it's worth the time unless your components block unplugging the connectors just to be sure.) some YouTubers even reccomend using a second psu so there must be some reason why, however I would assume without the mobo, no power should be sent to the components, although maybe it circulates. Better safe than sorry. Probably better to wait for someone with a definite answer but hope my opinion of "you spent x amount so better play it safe " helps
  12. So I am thinking of watercooling an i7 6700k for my next build. I will be building inside the fractal design nano s and so space will be at a premium. I want to create an EK pump res combo, and their own solutions only have combined intake / outlet on the bottom, where as I want inlet from the top of the res. I can either get an EK topped d5, 6mm mm fitting and create a 6mm plastic insert to even out the pressure, or do the same with the elite DDC pump. Both should give me a vertical pump res combo (I will use an x3 150 lite res) but is a d5 or DDC better in this situation. Btw I know bitspower has a pump top and res upgrade kit but here in the U.K.,I can only seem to find the top, and not the upgrade kit, not too mention I think I need extra O rings and so there I am confused.
  13. Depends on your power supply. I asked the exact same question. Power efficiency on the 1070 is much better and the performance is slightly better. If that is worth the money is all up to you.
  14. It comes down to 280x vs rx460. 280x has roughly 35% better performance. If you can wait though, try and save up for the 470 but if not, go for the 280x.
  15. Seems strange. Try reverting back to stock speeds and then over locking again from there. Make sure temperature is prioritised over power limit and do sanity checks such as gpu usage at idle.
