well so far the only way I know to know a bad mount is by removing it again and remount it. you would see how the paste looks like.

unless the paste you use is toothpaste

what is the airflow like in your case? do you have the fan connected properly? Also, what processor are you using and have you overclocked it?

So what parts are you looking to upgrade? Are you asking for suggestions to as which parts to upgrade?
Also, what are your current specs?

with a quick bit of reading you should be able to fit something up to a 7970 or a 680 dual slot card so you should be good to know with anything you want to put in, just double check with a measuring tape maybe

3570k is Good enough for now, I'd just buy a decent Noctua for whatever size your exhaust is, then Spend the rest of your budget on a graphics card/  potential PSU upgrade if necessary

i wouldnt worry about increasing ram, 8gb is the most youll need in a gaming situation and even in video editing its a good amount, fans as long as you dont mind the color i usually use noctua's, their quiet and have a really nice balance of static pressure and air flow.. graphics card depends on what size you can fit into the case i would look at maybe a 660ti or even a 650ti boost, as for cpu cooler there is a really good noctua low pro cooler the nh-l12, little pricey but it does a great job considering
