  1. Thanks for all the replies guys! i can get the 980 right now cause it's in stock. The 1060 gamingX is also much more expensive (about 25% more). 980 supports sli... i might go for the 980.
  2. I can get myself a 'gtx 980 msi gaming' for less than a 'gtx 1060 msi gamingX'. Should I get the 980? What are the pros and cons?? Thanks for your help guys!
  3. That's doable for me.. would've loved to see it being under €400,- Maybe Polaris will be my savior
  4. I wasn't even aware of that. Thanks for pointing that out dude
  5. Thanks for the swift reply! I'm on a relatively tight budget so i'm glad to hear that i can get away with using the 6500.
  6. Can't really decide on what cpu to get for my build. In my country (Holland) The 6500 costs about €200,- And the 6600k costs about €260,- Do you guys think the slight performance increase is worth the extra expense? I'll probably also have to get a better fan for it if I wanna OC it right? So it would be about €100 more I think? I'm gonna use it for gaming. And i've heard a beefy gpu is more important than a great cpu when it comes to gaming in general. What do you guys think? is paying 50% more worth it to maybe get a 5-10% improvement?
  7. Thanks for taking the time to look at my build. I mostly chose this motherboard to be able to OC in the future if i wanted to. I chose this PSU cause it gives me a lot of room to expand. (Besides going for an SLI config. I can go crazy with LED strips and fans ect.) But I will have a look into the PSU that you suggested non the less. And I'll probably get an SSD next year when i have more money. (my budget is pretty tight this summer) EDIT: the SuperNova 650 G2 PSU is more expensive in holland the the one I got in my list. It's about €120.
  8. Thanks for your comment! I personally don't think the €60 i would have to pay more for that cpu is worth it. since the overall improvement for gaming would be very minimal. I chose this motherboard also for the ability to OC in the future. maybe in a year or 2/3 when i want to upgrade the cpu i'll get an overclockable one. And I will probably just buy another stick of ram next year or when I start running into trouble.
  9. Getting an overclockable cpu would be really nice. But i don't think the price that would come with it is worth it. the i5-6600K is about €60 more expensive and the gains are minimal. I got this motherboard so that i have the option to OC in the future if i ever decide to do so. Thanks for your reply though!
  10. I tried but had trouble finding all of these components on there. That's why I provided all of these links to american sites for reference.
  11. Hello there kind people of the linustechtip forum! I'm gonna build my very own gaming pc on a budget of €1000. I have no experience in doing this myself and I was hoping to get some kind and informative criticism. I am from holland so I will provide the prices my build will cost me in the list. I'm also providing my reasoning on why I chose the items on the list. Case: Aerocool BattleHawk - €50 https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33083/aerocool-battlehawk-mid-tower-case-white This case goes really well with my motherboard poster below. I'm really going for the black and white theme with all of my gear, so I think this case goes well with it and it is pretty cheap. The only problem people seem to have with it is that the power button sticks sometimes. But for this price I'm willing to take my chances. Motherboard: MSI Z170A Krait gaming r6 - €160 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130915 I chose this cause it appears to be quite "future proof" to me. It supports SLI for when I wanna buy an additional graphics card, It can overcloak all the things and it also looks really cool in my opinion. Processor: Intel Core i5-6500 - €200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117563 A very decent processor for an even more decent price. Does really well in benchmarks and the processors that only do slightly better than this one are at least €40 more expensive. Power Supply: Cooler Master G750M - €90 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=Cooler+Master+G750M&N=-1&isNodeId=1 Reviews about this product are mostly very positive. It's not too expensive for what it delivers. I trust the brand not to blow up and destroy my build. The wattage is a bit overkill for me currently but I made sure it was enough for when i want to expand in the future. RAM: Kingston HyperX 8 GB DDR4-2400 - €35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104679&cm_re=Kingston_HyperX_8_GB_DDR4-2400-_-20-104-679-_-Product The black heatsink goes really well with the overall astatic of the build. Nothing much to see here. Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 - €50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840&cm_re=Seagate_Barracuda_1TB-_-22-148-840-_-Product A value hard disk. 1TB is plenty for me. Graphics card: GTX 1070 - €400?? I'm most likely getting this card if the price to performance ration is good. I simply don't have enough money to buy a 1080. Total cost (excluding Graphics card) = €485 This is the build i've come up with. Do you guys like it? Anything you would change? Anything that isn't compatible? Let me know, guys! I'm very interested in your comments/opinions!
