I recently purchased an Asus Rog Gl553 as a secondary pc for trips. I got the varient with the following specs:
- Gtx 1050
- i5 7300Hq
- 1tb 5400rpm hdd
- 8gb ddr4 2133mhz ram
I wasn't expecting it to perform amazingly, but I was hoping it would be able to run light things like Cs:go. Upon receiving the laptop, the first time it booted, it was satisfyingly quicker than my old laptop, in benchmarks and in-game. However, a few days later, (right now) I tried booting it, and I was greeted by the login screen after nearly 4 minutes of loading. I can't even get into my task manager. There's over 800gb of space available. The only things installed are benchmark softwares and Steam along with a few other games. There wasn't any physical trauma with the laptop, but it hangs on literally everything. Chrome won't launch, Windows key is inoperable, and the Asus control panel button doesn't respond. It's gotten to the point where force shut-downs are needed to do anything, not that much can be done either way. It's at the point that the laptop it's replacing is faster than this one.
It's running Win 10 Home is that helps.
