My guess is the issue is just that 127M left on / isn't enough for many programs. A lot of programs will use temp space while running, and 127M is nowhere near enough for many programs.

du -h --max-depth=1 is good for finding where all that data is being used. There's also good ol k4dirstat since you're in a gui. Be careful running du from the root dir, it'll run through /proc and throw a bunch of errors that gum up the output.

Try and knock a few hundred MB out and see if df shows a difference.

This is all also assuming you don't just have a full trash bin somewhere.

Glad you got your problem sorted. I have just spent around 5 hours setting up my new ISP settings. It should have been a case of simply adjusting settings to ISP ones, looked on forums beforehand to be pre-warned, and the conclusion was that they used PPPoA for encapsulation and that they used a username for login that didn't matter as long as you had the @btbroadband.com part, or use homehub@btbroadband.com.

So after trying both of those, with and without passwords also... and then assuming I had done something wrong and checking re-checking my settings. I ended up having to install the ISP modem/router, after trying for around 4 hours of trying to set up their router to combine with my router, so that I wouldn't have to change everything.... but getting nowhere as they seemed to work, but upon testing would either not give me internet connection or not allow me to connect with my servers etc... I decided to have another quick browse for settings in case I missed something... anyway after all this turns out that they had wrong info on about 5 different sites.
    Should have been:
    bthomehub@btbroadband.com
    - nothing for password
    and using PPPoE

That's it, and what I had tried in the first bloody place, except for the bt in front of homehub@btbroadband.com. 5 damn hours wasted because of bad info. I was not amused in the slightest, lol

the thing about reviews is that they are good when the product is as people expect.

if i go buy a pack of frozen fries at the supermarket i know they're frozen fries and will never be as tasty as the real deal.

however, if the fries are consistent, and they're not spoilt in the bag for some mysterious reason from time to time, i'm happy with the pack of frozen fries i got, because it fits the description of frozen fries.

Throw them into the wilderness and starve them for 1 week.  Get them out and present them with that and a clump of dirt. Let's see which one they will pick. Maybe next time, they will think twice about saying that's junk food.

no, because the usb case card reader is using a generic driver. if you have trouble when ejecting the sdcard then you can try USB Safely Remove. if you can't buy it just try if first.
inbuilt case card reader when connected via a usb port on you mobo is like a usb typical card reader.
