  1. Yeah my build doesn't have the Z170 that was a build that someone else suggested, after looking at some benchmarks I am probably gonna go with the gtx 1060 Also I found a better fully modular PSU for only 15 more bucks, the 550w GS EVGA
  2. I don't think my brother would really look into getting an overclockable CPU or overclock in general. Perhaps I might help him out and overclock his GPU a bit. Yes, I was going to look at gtx 1060 benchmarks, I was considering that... That PSU is fine though right? its EVGA
  3. Is that board reliable? I have heard mixed things about ASrock
  4. The biggest thing is the sapphire r9 fury but on the phanteks website they say their case has clearance for 330mm cards while the r9 fury is measured at 307mm.
  5. He would probably like the smaller form factor, and a lot of mini itx motherboards come with wifi anyway. If there is a cheaper micro atx alternative then I would be up for it, full atx is too big though.
  6. Actually the 2133 variant costs more than the 2400, I cant find a 2133 for cheaper.
  7. Oops yeah I changed the mobo after the ram again ill switch it back.
  8. So after converting to the PCMR myself, my brother thought this was a cool thing and decided that he was willing to spend about $900 on a gaming computer, so I decided to put my knowledge to the test and plan one out, and this is what I have: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/tmqR4C Specific questions I have about my build, (looking for advice): 1. Is there a better mini itx case out there for that sort of price? 2. Is my power supply adequate? (the calculator says it is) I don't need an OS or peripherals (he already has these)
  9. Cool, I was trying to decide in-between the: https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UM68-P-34-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01B9IDLAW/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471886726&sr=1-5&keywords=ultrawide%2Bmonitor and the 29 inch variant, also, do you have any recommendations for ultrawide in my price range?
  10. https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UM68-P-34-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01BMES072/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471886726&sr=1-5&keywords=ultrawide+monitor Should I get this? Also works well because I have an AMD card.
  11. Okay, so here is my dilemma: I want to upgrade my "display game", for no more than $400, but I am not sure what path to take. I have an MSI R9 390 as my GPU, and I already own this guy: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-G257HU-smidpx-25-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00RN08I86/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471885883&sr=1-1&keywords=G257HU (an IPS 1920x1080p screen) So I was wondering, should I: 1. Buy a 1920 x 1080p 144Hz display? 2. Go ultrawide? 3. Buy a 1440p 60Hz display? What 1440p monitor should I get?
