  1. Yeah, i didn't think that was a good idea either, so i will take that as a, im being an idiot moment?
  2. So as im now a uni student one thing i want to buy is a new TV, my old 720p LG TV i have had in my room for wayyyy over 10 years now and now i a time for an upgrade So i was thinking, should i buy a new 4K TV at a lower cost AND the new scorpio since it can stream 4k movies and some games (i think) or would it be better to buy a better 4k TV and use something else to stream Netflix in 4K I have a decent PC so i dont really game much on consoles any more hence why i came up with this dilemma, help would be appreciated and suggestions of good TVs would help. Please make sure that they are no bigger than 55" Thanks
  3. The person being interviewed said that microsoft went on their xbox ones and examined their silicon for the ones, then adjusted the bottlenecks on a molecular level, that is impressive
  4. Outside Xbox interviews one of the people behind Digital Foundry, who are one of the few to have seen this console, thoughts? I personally am taking this with a pinch of salt, since this is an xbox pro channel and could be biased
  5. Off topic so it goes here right? So im leaving school to move on to uni, me and my classmates want to give our computing teacher a gift since he has been our teacher for 6 years so we need to give him something and thought this would be the best place to ask We will all chip in, needs to be delivered from the UK and no more than £60 He is into: Robot stuff Puzzles Computers (duh) (he recently bought a binary watch so stuff like that) He doesn't drive Any help would be helpful
  6. When is the S8 planned for release? My contract runs out 1st of April
  7. Self explanatory, getting a new phone and looking at these 2 phones, both at 2GB of data (4G) unlimited texts and minutes, the S6 is priced at £30 ($37) and the S7 at £36 ($45) per month Is the S7 worth that extra £6 ($8) a month for 24 months (that is an extra £144 ($192) for the two years)
  8. When i was young i remember i bashed the hell out of the Lord of The Rings: Two towers game and Crash, man those were the days
  9. So my 24 month contract with three (UK) is coming to an end, and by the 1st of April i will have a new phone, no longer will i have my old Iphone 5C and i want to switch back to android (in my opinion apple is not for me) but i have a budget of £30 PM for my phone (maximum £35 and no more) and have been constantly switching between the Samsung S6 (non-edge) and LGs G5. However i have saw that the G6 is on it's way and i am curious to see if i should get that instead, but if it's out within my price range i will not get it and stick to these phones I was going to get the S7 but besides water resistant and a better battery i didn't see much of a point in getting that as the S7 is £37 pounds a month (way out of our family budget) and the S6 is £30 (note both of the plans are on 2GB of 4G data a month with unlimited texts and minutes) So my question is should i get the S6 or G5, or wait for the G6 and if it's in price range get that? I will not be considering an Iphone so don't try and persuade me
  10. Try and go for something else for GPU, would highly recommend a 1060 for that cpu even better if you could get a 1070
  11. Do you need an i7? Because looking at intels website and amazon you are looking around £200 ($250) for the I7 920, you could get an i5 6500 for cheaper, but yes i would wait for zen before buying a cpu
  12. I watched linuses video i think it was on techquicke on "how to preserve battery life" however im still left without my question being answered and thought the best place to ask was here I bought a new laptop and the one thing that im worried about is battery expectancy, my previous old laptop that i bought 5 years ago had originally 6 hours battery life within 2 years it had gone down to 30 minutes and the next year i had to have it constantly plugged in. My question is how can i make sure my battery lasts as long as it can? I know how to keep your batteries charged but how can i increase it's life expectancy and is it even possible?
  13. i have now and on there website and amazon they are over my budget, im on a very tight budget
  14. So when buying a laptop for university i found the best laptop for £500 the acer swift 3, comes with an i3 6100U, 128GB SSD, super super light and compact (which is key) and a 1080p display HOWEVER the one thing that is putting me off on buying this is it's ram quantity... 4GB of DDR4 RAM. Would this be enough for my 5 years of a computing science course? Please note that anything big like huge programming tasks are done on the uni computers this laptop is mostly for notes, and for traveling to the university There is a 8GB version but that is £200 more, and way out of my budget. All it comes with is an i5 instead of an i3 (which is nothing apart from speed in a laptop at this price) and 4GB more to me that is not value for money So would 4GB be enough for my needs?

  16. Have you double checked you have connected the monitor to the Graphics Card? If not then the i3 3220 is quite old and slow compared to newer ones, might suggest a sign of CPU bottlenecking
  17. So in about 4 months i will be leaving for uni to do a 5 year Computing Science course to hopefully become a teacher. For this i need a new laptop and thats where i come here for advice. Here is what i need - Light as possible - Not blazing fast and not super slow - About 8 hours or greater battery life - Needs to have a CD drive - Somewhere around £100 - £500 MAX here is what i have already: (Note: I am open for notebooks as well but i am hearing they are not the best for performance if you know of a good notebook in this price range include as well) http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-pavilion-15-6-laptop-with-the-latest-7th-gen-intel-core-i5-processor-white-10151808-pdt.html
  18. The R9 380 is ok for what you use, however, if you are into less power consuming and more efficient GPU's then i would recommend the GTX 1050 TI or the 1060 depending on your budget
  19. I am needing Bluetooth in my computer, I know that you can get a PCI card that carries it but I have very few left and can't seem to find them without a WIFI card coming along with it, so I am now needing to look for a USB version of Bluetooth I have some products in mind (see links below) but I would like some recommendations from people. I will be using Bluetooth to connect my XBOX One controller to play on the PC for some games like GTA V and other complicated and tricky to use games on keyboard and mouse.
