Dellenn got a reaction from Why_Me in Twitch, OBS and NVIDIA to Release Multi-Encode Livestreaming
Summary
Twitch, OBS & NVidia are providing an answer to only some channels getting transcoding. Using modern GTX & RTX GPUs, streamers will broadcast up to 3 resolutions simultaneously up to 1080p. Also, beta testers will experiment with higher bit rates, up to 5 concurrent streams and AV1 encoding.
Quotes
My thoughts
FINALLY! Twitch is getting on the bandwagon of higher bitrate streaming and newer codecs. I think this will be great for content creators so their viewers will always get the right stream/resolution. My worry is, what's the bandwidth going to be like if a user is streaming 3 (or more) resolutions at the same time. Data caps be damned?

Dellenn got a reaction from Dabombinable in A 4070 SUPER is better than a 3090? Wow. Nvidia showcase SUPER GPUs
What I found weird was their comparisons.
They compared a 4080 Super to a 3080ti, but the 4070 Super vs the 3090.

Dellenn got a reaction from da na in Corsair RMx SHIFT PSU Series - 90 degree change of PSU ports
Summary
Corsair RMx Shift PSUs - changes the side the connectors are placed. More room for hard drive trays in the basement, easier cable management up the back panel of the PC case.
Quotes
My thoughts
Not sure why this has never been done before. It's a SIMPLE solution to a simple problem! Change the orientation of the ports, and you can retain the basement real estate.

Dellenn got a reaction from Beskamir in Framework Laptop - Full CPU/Mainboard upgrade kit
Summary
Framework laptop company, whose entire premise is upgradeability & interchangeable parts finally lets you upgrade the CPU/mainboard. They have also released a 2.5GB ethernet adapter and revised top cover.
Quotes
My thoughts
Depending on the CPU upgrade you choose, this could be a good solution to buying a whole new laptop every couple years. But the higher end chips get into "new laptop" prices, making the high end stuff a bit less accessible. Still, they're making good on the whole "upgrade every part of your machine" promise. Adding 2.5GB is a great upgrade as well.

Agreed - they are big enough for where they are at the moment, but not enough to get the "big boy" pricing that other integrators can command.
