Apparently one of my friends' friends is gonna be building a PC (Idk if it's for Gaming or just general use but I would assume Gaming) and my friend just said that he's already purchased an i5 instead of something like Ryzen..
And a CXM Corsair PSU... and 16GB RAM....
-
@PCGuy_5960 My thoughts exactly . I really want to say something but I'm not going to primarily because he's already ordered the CPU apparently and because I don't wanna make him feel like I'm heavily lecturing him / criticizing him lol
To be honest, I really wanna say go for Ryzen.. but yeah. And the PSU's been ordered so.. ya.

Umm I think my friend said the PSU has a grey Corsair sticker, not sure.
He said it was a CXM Series Corsair PSU. 650w.
And yeah I have to agree with @Implosivetech, people do see Corsair as a top value PSU Retailer but me personally, I prefer EVGA but that's just me, I dunno what's the best value atm lol, I do know CXM I think.. is Tier 3 or so on Strm's PSU Tier List
-
Also @Implosivetech, great to see you again man! <3
-
@PCGuy_5960 Still a tier-2 or possibly tier-3 Corsair PSU though..
@Implosivetech A guide? Cool..! But for what may I ask?
@Chaos_Sorcerer I never said they were the best I said that as my personal opinion lol but yeah I can say that I've heard they have good customer-service for things like returns/etc..

wut bout my 750 gq? I know it's not the best unit in the world, but I got it for like $80 Canadian (63 USD, 50 GBP).
I was a newb last year so I phoned EVGA with like the dumbest questions, and they answered all of them correctly, politely, and respectfully. My next graphics card will be an EVGA unit for this very reason. Hopefully my next motherboard, too.

Hehehe I'm still impressed with this one:

Tried my chances with it since it was cheaper in a black friday deal, aside from the cable clog it is excellent, soundless and feeds energy flawlessly... I think i had 3 black outs and it never affected it either [:

Yeah true but Ryzen though.. @MEC-777, such better value than i5's currently in my opinion. They're not 100% bad obviously but still.. coulda been spent on Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 5 perhaps.
I dunno what GPU he's getting, that's what I'm curious about. I don't know any of the specs atm, hoping my friend will send a list soon lol
