Man, when I glanced at his license plate I thought it had my gamer tag (Feeterican) on it (witch is the only one in the world). I listened to his PC build stream with Maingear and found I really like the fella. I would love to hang with him for a day and bounce ideas back and forth about music and gaming (I've been a drummer for over 20 years and gaming for 12).

Go to a yard sale. Or a thrift shop. Or a flea market. Or the dump. LGA 775/AM2 prebuilts are as numerous as crabs in a strip club.

As he has a vast collection of cars I think think Jeremy, Richard and James from The Grand Tour should choose 3 of their favorite cars in Deadmu5's collection and do a road trip across Canada in them, making sure though Richard doesn't crash

got them in that order too, going to either get a Vega card or a 1080TI after the summer, and that way il have one hell of a machine to play Paladins and OSU!  because who dosent need a card capable of playing AAA games at 4k for playing esports games at 1440p lol. actiually my 970 dosent get a solid 250fps in Paladins maxed out anymore becuase i havent redone its overclocking, wont even do it if i remove the 8x MSAA  LoRez screw the FPS with every update...

I'm not even sure how my E8400 and single card got a better score than yours. That's incredible that 1 GTX 680 and a 7 year old proc is better than 2 GTX 560 and an i7. I didn't even think that was possible.

Feeterican reacted to N.tony in Who do you think will win the Scrapyard wars?
I had E8400 since 2008 and it was the last component that got upgraded. So for a while I had E8400+AMD7870 - I can tell from experience how their pc's are going to perform.

The CPU was definitely bottlenecking, very hard, however, you will not see that unless you do actual gameplay tests - none but one of the built in benchmarks showed any significant changes in average FPS compared to my new Ci5 3550P. Only Hard Reset benchmark improved the FPS by a twofold at least, which was pretty exciting

However, since LTT's gaming benchmarks are normally done with real gameplay - the bottlenecking will very much be visible. This being said, I still think Luke wins this round, since Q6600 is actually not that much better compared to E8400. You might think 2 extra cores would help CPU greatly, however, it's simply the matter of a very old architecture.

There's a beautiful article on tom's hardware that I always use as a reference, since it was the main reason I decided against swapping my E8400 for Q9550 or something:
    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ivy-bridge-wolfdale-yorkfield-comparison,3487.html
The outcome was pretty grim - even though E8x00 and Q9xx0 lines were pretty beastly back in their day, nowadays they can barely compete with entry level Pentiums or even Celerons. And no amount of overclocking will overcome this. Besides, Q6600 is one process node behind - 65nm versus 45mn of E8400, which means it's overclocking potential is very limited in comparison.

I'm running an E8400 on a EVGA 780i but at the moment I don't have a fan on the CPU so overclocking this would be a bad idea. But if I can find a all in one water unit I might dip in the O.C. but I've had this thing for almost 7 years now and it still runs just fine on stock clocks. I mainly use this PC (that im typing on) for web browsing and light gaming and the occasional video edit. Sure when I edit video it take's about 5 hours to render a Shadowplay clip it's ok cause I don't do it that often. I do love this PC and I don't think I ever toss it aside, it's the last Nvidia chip set MoBo, but if I do unplug it, I'm going to hang it on the wall.

You are so certain of yourself and you couldn't be more wrong.  You have been providing a great demonstration of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

    Anyway, for 1080p, there are 1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels (multiply 1920 by 1080)
    For 2160p (4K) there are 3840x2160 = 8,294,400 pixels (multiply 3840 by 2160)

    8,294,400 / 2,073,600 = 4

2160p (4K) has 4 times as many pixels as 1080p.

This is a common mistake people make when dealing with multiple dimensions.  If you double the lengths of each side of a rectangle, you quadruple (2^2) the area.  If you double the lengths of each side of a cube, you octuple (8 or 2^3) the volume.  If you're dealing with 4 dimensional space, it's 16 (2^4), and so on for each dimension you add.

We should do like some did with the corsair logo. Start a petition and send it to ubisoft with 50000 signature. I think if they see this they might take the time to think about it. Here we are just a group of people talking and not doing anything. I have a 5000$ PC and my favorite game is Assassin's creed. I PAID to have a machine capable of handling everything I throw at it and I want my favorite game to be as high quality as it can get. You were saying they shouldnt bite the hand that feed them. We the clients are this hand. We just need to slap them in the face so they understand: WE CARE about our games.

I blame MS more than Ubisoft. They are screwing over their own customers on their own OS, which pretty much makes them the ultimate a-holes.

It isn't like Ubisoft is the only one that has done this with a 30 FPS locked port. In fact Ubisoft has not locked anything at 30 yet that I know of. I may not be interested in any of their games and am not buying them, but look at who has the most money to throw around and who is doing the pressuring.

That would be the same company who makes the OS we game on, and keeps/delays multiplats off of Windows, and withholds DirectX patches from majority market share from their own customers.

I find it hilarious that so much hate is directed at Ubisoft and MS gets a free pass. Sony has at least given us Planetside 2, Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, H1Z1 on the way. What does MS give us? Forza is the only thing they have home grown and we don't get it. Project Spark? Locked behind Windows 8.1.Who knows what the hell they are going to do with the next Minecraft. Block it off everything but Windows 10? If they even give it to us, and it will probably be delayed...
